If you have marijuana in your pocket, it's not a good idea to pet a patrolling police dog.

The Binghamton Press & Sun Bulletin reports that 48-year-old Kelly Simpson was busted Wednesday after he stopped to pet K-9 Tarah, who was on foot patrol with her handler in Endicott.

It's a bad idea to pet those fucking dogs at all. The one here tried to bite me once.

Wouldn't the dog smell it from like a mile away? I thought those K-9s were known for that...

Ignorance and misinformation at it's finest. Lets waste taxpayer money to arrest a peaceful man that was stopping to say hi to a police dog, peacefully. This guy wasn't doing anything wrong, he was walking around and wanted to give thanks to an officer he saw. He wasn't stealing anything or harming anyone, nothing by which warranted his arrest. Lets waste taxpayer money on a peaceful US citizen who takes the much safer choice in smoking marijuana over tobacco or drinking alcohol, because he chose to smoke weed over tobacco. Maybe he had cancer and that was the only thing that allows him to live a happy life. Do you know that man and what hes going through? No, no you don't. And to say that the man can not have a natural form of medicine with with little side effects that are less harmful to the body than things legal in the US, is nothing but heartless. Him smoking allows him to live happy, it's not harming anyone. Go smoke a bowl and tell me that you want to go rob a store. You won't, you won't want to do anything more than sit around and eat munchies with your friends and watch movies. It's a peaceful drug, and has been proven to have many anti-cancer cell fighting properties. The reason it's not researched more is because of the federal legal state of the drug. If this amazing plant wasn't illegal for political and business reasons, much more research could be done.

Go read a bit more, and stop going around and spreading the anti-marijuana propaganda that the government has been spawning since the 1980's, with weed killing brain cells and what not. I have not once smoked marijuana and then wanted to go smoke meth or snort coke because I wasn't high enough or something. It's not a gateway drug, it doesn't kill braincells. I do other drugs recreationally as well, so I can say firsthand that weed was never the reason as to why I consumed a drug. In fact, weed is what helps me and many many other people with the addictions from hard drugs, as smoking weed makes them pretty much non-existent. Stop believing all these lies, and open your eyes and mind and research a bit. Marijuana is a plant with many uses, both medical and economical. The US is being ignorant over the legality of it over money and politics, not because it's dangerous. I have consumed my fair share of drugs, and I can also say firsthand that weed is nothing like LSD, coke, MDMA, or any hard drug. Weed is not a "drug" like coke or meth, which make you unable to operate fully in life. You can still live life while stoned, once you get past the mental "freaking out" because "Oh my god i'm so high". Weed is pretty much nothing like the government portrays it, other than slowing you down a bit and at times making it hard to communicate, it's all personal. It changes your inputs for life, and gives you a different view on life.

So throwing this guy in jail over smoking weed and petting a police dog with weed on him is worth the $30,000+ that it's going to cost the taxpayers each year to keep him in jail? Really guys? How in the living hell can you tell yourself that peaceful marijuana smokers deserve to be thrown in jail at $30k+ a year at the taxpayers expense? Yeah, that sounds reasonable...

Marijuana doesn't make a person a criminal. There are bad people that smoke it just as there are with people who drink, but you can't ban such a useful drug from the world over a small few. Prescription opiates and synthetic-meth based lab meds are prescribed everyday, such as morphine and diladid. I don't see you saying those should be made illegal, and they are easy to get and far more harmful to your body.

    And since almost all of my programming experience is with defunct shit now, I figure my best place is helping preserve legacy stuff. Which I don't know how to do necessarily, but I need some kind of a hobby and figuring out how older things worked is the only shit that really interests me. Well soldering and restoration is fun too, but no one is bringing me new stuff to fix and restore, so it's mostly old shit, and I LOVE OG Xbox so much. I want to make sure it can function as long as possible, until someone can effectively emulate it at least. I have like 15 I was going to fix over the winter and didn't get to.

    Yeah Tom, me too sorry for your loss buddy my mom told me she finds out her olds friend died from Google searching them. She had not talked to one of her old friends in a year and found out she died from Google. Also another one in the same session. RIP all of them my sincere condolences Tom

    We have some elderly guests that regularly come hang out at the bar at the end of the night, and every once in a while we don't see someone for a few weeks and then someone shows up with their obituary.

    We usually let them do their memorials there in the morning if they want to and I'll make them some snacks and drinks. There was one guy named Tom that came in like every night and would sit by himself and get a bunch of soup and a glass of wine. idk why but he LOVED our fucking soup, like he would order a fucking quart of it at a time and would always get so sad when we stop doing it for the summer.

    He was just such a sweet old man, we had two servers pregnant and they held a baby shower together, he was soooooo fucking excited to get to see a baby. Unfortunately he died a month or so before they were born

    So I decided to Google some people that I had not seen or heard from in a while and sure enough one of my old best friends, we had a falling out years ago but whatever, find out he died of Pancreatic Cancer in January. I have also lost a few of my closer acquaintances from growing up the last year. Getting old - people die - I kinda thought it was going to be this way a few years ago....
