Maps you hate and maps you love

Ok me personally, i hate maps like DoTa because its one of the most played map with cheats , to many versions of it, etc........

And i love maps like Hero Line wars Remix (4 team version) , Tower wars 1.9 and 2.0, Line tower wars 12.0 (i think this is the hell version), Square Defense, Northrend army war, and almost any other War maps like these i love to play, and i love RPG's where you can save

Actually i love maps where you gotta fight creeps of the other team and maps where you can play for hours

its about maps that have been made so i think it fits here if the mods dont think the same way they can delete it i got np with that.

i started this thread for research of what kinda maps people actually like so i can start making some of those type of maps, because if you make a map and people dont like it whats the point of making it then ??

its ok, I think its pretty relevant for this forum.

While I can't claim a liking to a particular map type, I certainly do like the general team vs team or team vs computer scenarios where there is a clear objective and some decent thought put into the execution.

Yeah what Darg said is what I feel.
Right now I play Battleships and Tank Commander by TH15.
Gives great adictiveness to map when you don't have to think too much about combining items and such.

I would love to see more water type maps thou.

Maps withc ustom spells definately. If your map relies heavily on heroes with spells, then AT LEAST give them a different art, icon, etc. Most maps tend to get boring when you see the same exact spells already in Warcraft III.

I'm also a big fan of AoSs, and Tds. I don't know about the majority, because most of the map types on www.wc3sear.ch are AoSs but at the same time most are made from jerks who are just trying to top DotA (which they won't)

Ok i started a map with several gametype's in one a while ago

here's my progress ill try to keep it up-to-date

Terraining 80%
Heroes 45%
Creeps 0%
Buildings 80%
Triggers (this is hard to know but ill take a guess) arround 10%
Spells 0%
Skins 0%
Icons 0%
Sounds 0%

i will take my time to complete this because i dont only map for wc3 but for many other games to so pls be patient if your intrested.

Dont ask about the gametype's i used because thats a little secret.
lets hope i keep this under 4mb so its playable om b.net

ideas are welcome
and names for buildings, heroes and creeps are welcome 2 because they are now called building 1, hero 1, etc.....
(also like i work progress can decrease 2 )

Aka, if it's an RPG/AoS with thought in it but rather simple skill dubbing (no real customization), I can suggest hero and creep names like so.

The Empire of Nargea ~Good Side~

Lackeys (Nargea Empire of Humans, Dwarves, and Elves):

Swordsman (Elven Captain voice, Elven Captain model)
Archer (Archer voice, the non-nightelf archer model, red tinting)
Knight of the Order (Knight voice, Knight model) *This is a "super creep" that should only be spawned every now and then*

Heroes:

Jon Blackfinger --Dwarven Magic Rifleman-- Can add cool effects to his boomstick such as Fireshot (Fire bolt or something in-game--Jon shoots a blast of fire at an enemy hitting it for an initial damage combined with a burn effect (increased movement speed and attack speed but unit takes quite a bit of damage over time)), Icey Rain (Blizzard. Jon shoots a big ball of ice into the air wired with gunpowder and string. Gunpowder is set aflame in middair and basically you have a rain of damaging ice particles), Headshot (Critical Strike and Trigger. Jon cools down and aims several shots in a desparate attempt to hit the target's head or another vital part. Adds a temporary 25% chance to strike for double damage to your weapon for x attacks when casted), and Rapid Fire (Hmm I don't know. Berzerk and Item Armor Gain (minus amount)? Jon uses magic to size down his bullets alongside a complicated rapid fire system. For thirty seconds Jon fires 100% faster but his damage drops down 10 (depends how strong the hero is--10 decrease for a 30 damage per attack hero))


The Empire of Solvia/The Unknown Ones ~Evil Side~

Lackeys (Solvia Empire of heretical humans):

Corrupt Swordsman (Footman voice, Elven Captain model, red tinting)
Corrupt Archer (Banshee voice, the non-nightelf archer model, red tinting)
Apocalypse Knight (Garithos voice, Garithos model, red tinting) *This is a "super creep" that should only be spawned every now and then*

Lackeys (The Unknown Ones aka the Undead):

Corruption (Wisp Voice, Wisp Model, black heavy tinting--all colors down to a low number increment)
Agony (Avatar of Vengeance Spawn voice (the messed up sounding one), the banshee archer neutral hero model, black light tinting--same as above, though a much higher number increment)
Torment (Dragon voice (any if there's more than one), Demon Hunter model, black heavy tinting) *This is a "super creep" that should only be spawned every now and then*

Heroes:

Pedro Azrinni --Elven Heretic-- Can heal allies but hurt himself, heal himself but hurt allies, hurt enemies but hurt himself, or hurt pretty much everything in the area--him, his allies, and the enemies Abilities are: Life Transfer (Holy Light and trigger or two. First cast is the receiver, second cast to decide giver is on if the receiver is Pedro. For an increasing percentage of health restored, there is a decreasing percentage of health taken away from the giver...up to only 5% more health lost than restored), Blood Sacrifice (Hurts Pedro for x% health to do (x times 1.5)% health damage to an enemy), Scarlet Restoration (Gives a select area...friends and foes...a temporary vampire aura), and Bloody Armageddon (Pedro gives up 50% of his health to call upon his friends in high places. They respond to the gift by sending down meteors that spawn Rage Embodiments (basically a reddish brown meteor that crashes into the ground to not stun but do damage to the people underneath and then spawn those big nasty green rocky things--I forgot their name-- tinted red)...the meteor does damage to ally and enemy and the Rage Embodiments are neutral hostile and attack as Creeps)

You can use the name of the lackeys if it's a TD. I think Swordsmen and Archers could be in the rounds after the weakling explorers and stuff. Knight of the Order, Apocalypse Knight, and Torment can be bosses--basically much higher armor and hp. For some reason I had more, but I think my virus is putting me asleep again....
