I thought searing/frost arrows do work on melee. Just doesn't SHOW anything.. although this means im probably wrong.

Searing arrows works on melee hroes, just low the casting rnge for something near 50.

and you can do ANYTHING with triggers

but is a lot easier just try harder before decide to trigger everything

I read somewhere that "Poison Arrows" could be used on melee heroes based on ranged heroes. (Set attack range to 100 or something.)

I'm pretty sure you can do this, but it will probably have some limitations:

Perhaps you can simply give the melee hero a dummy spell. Then make a trigger that does everything else. Event would be "A Unit Attacks" The trigger should check if the dummy spell is on autocast, if it is, Have the trigger do the damage using the unit damage unit command in the trigger (the damage would be equal to the damage bonus) everytime the unit attacks and it's mana is equal to or more than the mana required by the spell until the player stops the autocast, since i hear that searing arrows does not work for melee heroes, you could just reduce the unit's mana in the actions by the amount of mana needed for the spell.

If it's not on autocast:
Simply use the starts the effect of an ability event and do the same actions.

(I'm not sure if there is a check if autocast function, the workaround would be to create a trigger that checks if the unit uses the base order ID command for the autocast of that spell, and then turn on the trigger)

Edit:

Here's the trigger anyway:

There are 4 triggers (o.o)

Code:
Melee Arrows (This is the trigger for the spell when manually casted)
    Events
Unit - A unit Starts the effect of an ability
    Conditions
(Ability being cast) Equal to <Your spell>
    Actions
Unit - Cause (Triggering unit) to damage (Target unit of ability being cast), dealing <insert extra damage of spell here> damage of attack type <attack type of spell> and damage type <damage type you want for the spell>
Unit - Set mana of (Triggering unit) to ((Mana of (Triggering unit)) - <insert the manacost of spell here>)

Code:
Melee Arrow Autocast Detection (To detect if the arrows is on autocast)
    Events
Unit - A unit Is issued an order with no target
    Conditions
        (Issued order) Equal to (Order(flamingarrows))
    Actions
        Set Attacker = (Ordered unit)
Set Mana = (Mana of Attacker)
Trigger - Turn on Melee Arrows Autocast <gen>

Code:
Melee Arrow Unautocast detection (detects if arrows is not on autocast)
    Events
Unit - A unit Is issued an order with no target
    Conditions
        (Issued order) Equal to (Order(unflamingarrows))
    Actions
Trigger - Turn off Melee Arrow Autocast Detection Copy <gen>

Code:
Melee Arrows Autocast (This is initially off, and is turned on/off by the two triggers above, this is the trigger for when arrows is on autocast)

Melee Arrows Autocast
    Events
Unit - A unit Is attacked
    Conditions
        (Attacking unit) Equal to Attacker
    Actions
If (All Conditions are True) then do (Then Actions) else do (Else Actions)
            If - Conditions
(Mana of (Attacking unit)) Greater than or equal to <Manacost of spell>
            Then - Actions
Unit - Cause Attacker to damage (Attacked unit), dealing <bonus damage of spell> damage of attack type Spells and damage type Normal
Unit - Set mana of Attacker to ((Mana of Attacker) - <Spell manacost>)
Set Mana = (Mana of Attacker)
            Else - Actions

I told you there were limitations right?

The problem here is, the bonus damage is dealt before the unit attacks, so if the unit attacks but stops before it actually attacks, it will have reduced mana and the target would receive the bonus damage from the spell (but not the actual damage).

I don't think you have to go through this much trouble to make a simple spell...there must be another way.

These triggers are of course, unrefined, have leaks and is NOT MUI nor MPUI (because I'm too lazy to make it so).

Signatures can be edit in your account profile. As for the old stuffs, I'm thinking it's because Blizzard is now under Microsoft, and because of Microsoft Xbox going the way it is, it's dreadful.

Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though
  • Varine Varine:
I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work
  • Varine Varine:
Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm
  • Varine Varine:
So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man
  • Varine Varine:
I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.
  • Varine Varine:
Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
  • Varine Varine:
Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
