ive thought of a game but i going to need some help making the map

my idea is...

there is one player who is king
the other players have to try to overthrow the king by building different types of structures and units
when the king is eventuall overthrown, the person who overthrew him will be king

and the cycle keeps going until it is down to the last person

things to consider
need a place for the king
need a big enough area for 11 players
need someway to get gold and lumber

any help would be appreciated

if someone submits a map that i think is really good, they will get + rep and possibly used for the game

Is there an advantage connected to being king, because as you say, the game is won when you're the last player left to become king, so what would prevent me from just playing the waiting game?

rofl, love doing those exploits to win. :D

Ok, so you want a map? that is like the idea you suggested? so you can take and use? lol

And from Sirroelivan's point, perhaps you should make it so that like every second you are King, you gain points. At the end of the game timer, whoever has the most points wins the game. That way people actually want to be King and defend it. :)

agreed. if i was playing that all i would do was build buildings and units and while the others are losing their units and buildings attempting to become king then when the last person instantly becomes king rush him with ur massive MASSIVE army and his army will be just injured completely from getting king and u win.

an idea: why not make red the king, and make the player fight each other in an FFA style fight, and the last remaining player gets to fight the king, and do it like predator style, so after that round comes a new round where a new random person gets to be king.

Do you expect other to make the map for you? Map making might seem difficult, but experience makes it easier. Mapmaking and learning how to make a map is trial and error and takes time and work. You can't expect other people to make your map, make it yourself and you'll find it more satisfying.

Try making a map yourself, and ask people to help improve it, just don't expect people to make the map for you.

Suggestions have been posted, you can start making the map, build the terrain, maybe start out with regular melee races if you don't have a lot of inspiration, etc...

Yes. I have one.

But you don't need to go all fancy yet.

Er... have you ever made a map before? Just asking.

Anyway, start by at least creating the map itself, and making the basic terraining such as the bases, and extras, and things. Also make some units once the base terraining is done.

EDIT: Woah, now I see that my tut was pretty bad for my own standards, too. lol, the quality of the pictures were pretty bad, too :/ :D

Signatures can be edit in your account profile. As for the old stuffs, I'm thinking it's because Blizzard is now under Microsoft, and because of Microsoft Xbox going the way it is, it's dreadful.

@tom_mai78101 I must be blind. If I go on my profile I don't see any area to edit the signature; If I go to account details (settings) I don't see any signature area either.

Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though
  • Varine Varine:
I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work
  • Varine Varine:
Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm
  • Varine Varine:
So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man
  • Varine Varine:
I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.
  • Varine Varine:
Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
  • Varine Varine:
Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
