So. whats going to happen T_T? Are we going to get forced to hire gays?

Well if it gets to the stage we have here in the UK then maybe so. We've got what's known as "positive discrimination" (an oxymoron if ever there was one) - basically companies have quotas to fill for black, disabled, gay, female employees and so on, so if you go in for a job and a black/disabled/gay/female person goes in as well, and you are equally qualified, they will get the job. Sometimes, even being better qualified won't help provided the other person is capable of doing the job.

It's called political correctness and has been shoved down our throats so far that we are shitting it day in, day out. One MP - who I won't mention because the very name makes my blood boil - wanted to bring in a system which would guarantee women got better pay than men. Not equal, better. It is a very good thing an election is rolling around soon, or some might be tempted to take... action.

You do realize the president doesn't make the laws, Congress does.

What we need is more psychiatrists. We need to fix the mentality of the country on an individual basis. This is the same reason I pick topics concerning cultural acceptance and not something easier like explaining the global warming controversy. Its not that the general public is a bunch of inbred mountain-men or slacking, drug influenced retards, they are just undereducated in diversity. It's not taught in school for the most part because the teachers themselves are undereducated. Hate is like a degenerative disease, the longer it is left to fester the worse it becomes. Too bad all our psychiatrists and leaders in psychology are focusing their efforts on mending the trauma of war. FUCK THE POLICE.

You do realize the president doesn't make the laws, Congress does.

But. The President is the one that affects the Congress agenda. Plus he has to sign it, or VETO.

I am a homosexual, and I personally do not want this bill to pass because I believe in free-speech and that people have the right to say anything that spills out of their mindless brains that they wish as long as it does not spark immediate violence. That is what the first amendement gives them the right to do.

However I am less offended, than disappointed in the individuals who posted many of the comments said in this thread. While yes, homosexuals like myself do not deserve any extra rights. We should not force someone out of a job even if they had better merit, however, we shouldn't be judged on our sexuality ether, because after all, we do still reserve the rights as any individuals in the country.

I hope this bill does not pass, because if anything it will just give the groups and parties against homosexuals more power, influence and reasoning to go against us.

I think, when it comes to paperwork or social alignments; This bill would actually make a difference - I mean, you can't employ someone just because hes/shes white and exclude all black - same goes for gays.

But, if I were to insult someone as gay, because they're going on my nerves or something and be arrested for something such MINOR, then I believe that america is taking a step in the wrong direction.

I also think, that insults are taken waaay too personally (that is, in america), since sueing does work differently as in elsewhere.

But, meh, I'm just some guy from outside. I have no idea how it is in america; I can just presume/suggest/guess how things work there.
