Point target burrow

I'm making an ability for a Crypt Fiend hero.
It should work as following:
The hero targets an AoE, then it burrows on the ground. Then the "unburrow" ability should move the hero to the center of the targeted AoE, and then just some stun effect.
When the hero is burrowed, it can't move, cast spells or attack, and it's invisible.

I'm skilled enough to do this, so no "do something simplier" or some sh*t like that.

I know JASS, and I'm making this full map in JASS.
I'm not looking for anyone to make the spell for me, just some guidelines, because my problems are these:
- If I use the burrow ability, I can't make the "aoe target"
- If I use some dummy ability with aoe target, then disabling movement, spells and attack could be tricky and easily abused somehow.
- If I combine a dummy ability, then save the target point with local handles (I'm using kattana's), then add the burrow ability, order to use burrow and so on, I'm afraid of bugs with the replaced units and such.

So, anyone has ideas for this?

Make a dummy ability. When the ability is activated:

- move the guy instantly to the target point.
- call the unburrow function with the caster as a parameter.
- do stuff in the unburrow function (unburrow + stun).

          - (Something with PICKSUNITSDUDE that checks if units not equel to caster)

          - Damage (units) with X damage with X type using X blah
          Else
Custom Script: Remove VARIABLEDUDE! (  )
Custom Script: Remove PICKUNITSDUDE (  )
Turn on BURROWDUDE!
Turn off (This Trigger)
Not sure if Custom Script is right.
Not sure if this will help, since all your map is in JASS, But if you want it in JASS, do w/e.

To duwenbasden:
When the ability is cast, the hero IS NOT moved. When the "unburrow" ability is cast then it's unburrowed and moved.

To thecrystal:
If it was so easy I would just do it. What happens with the cooldown of the "target aoe ability"?
And if you think "just leave the ability cooldowns itself and add another", yeah, I can do that, but if I wait for the cooldown and recast it in another point? burrow twice? It will cause bugs no mather what.
The cooldown should start when the 'unburrow' ability is used, not when the primary ability is used.

edit: and the burrow ability is a very tricky one. Noone should mess with morphing units.



Meh. I can make something similar to what you suggested, crystal, leaving 2 abilities at once. If the player waits the ability to cooldown, I can just re-set the target and prevent double burrowing. Still not what I wanted, but whatever.

I think you misinterpret mine:

Make a dummy ability for unburrow. When the "unburrow" ability is activated:

- move the guy instantly to the target point.
- call the unburrow function with the caster as a parameter.
- do stuff in the unburrow function (unburrow + stun).

And you misunderstood mine too ;)
My problem it's not that I don't know HOW to make the ability, my problem it's far more complex than that.
Re-read my first post, especially the part where I detail the problems.
No offense, but I'm looking for some guy that really understands my problems.

Anyway, +rep for trying.

Couldn't you just hide the abilities of the unit before he Unburrows? Or is there something else I'm missing?
Edit: Reread a post, nevermind.
Couldn't you just save the ability in a variable, remove the ability, then re-add it? Or is that possible, I'm walking out into the void currently.

But if I do that then the cooldown timer of the ability is lost. I think hiding the ability will be fine enough.


edit: I think I'll do something like:

Ability A (dummy, target aoe, X seconds cooldown)
Ability B (burrow and unburrow, instant cast)

The hero learns ability A, then uses it.
Store the target point, remove ability A, add ability B, order hero to use it (burrow). When 'unburrow' (ability B's deactivate) is casted, remove ability B, add ability A (if you remove and readd an ability, the cooldown is reset), disable TriggeringTrigger, order hero to use ability A at some random point (then the cooldown restarts), enable TriggeringTrigger. Then do the actual actions (move unit, stun aoe, etc.).
If it goes well it would be everything I wanted for.
