What will keep you playing a zombie map, without getting bored to quick.

There needs ro be events and quests you can do, or at least things you can trigger. This is a BIG biggy...

Funny details(funny things in maps can be pretty cool).

Cinematic.

Bosses.

New models.

some kind of combine spell system :
when someone cast an spell and a near friendly unit cast another then both spell get+ stats [dmg/effect/duration] anything like so .. [not for all skill ]
i cast earthquake and someone cast flamestrike then somewhere between us an volcano is casted [is just an spell example]

Differnt types of places you can go. Example* City, Forest, Desert, etc..

Mystery and suspense. Keep the players guessing, forcing them to come up with variety of strategies. It doesn't last forever, but it lasts quite a while depending on how well you develop it.

I think he means something like, one player could cast a Designator and hold it while the other player calls in an air strike, something that makes players work together not just gameplay but abilites
