removing item from inventory when entering a radius

alright, here's the deal..

i created an item retrieval quest. and everything is set up fine. the only problem is i want the item that i retrieve to be removed when i enter the quest givers radius. but i can't figure out how to get it to just search the hero's inventory slots, so it doesn't have to be in slot one specifically for example.

also, how do i make it so i can only have 1 item type at a time?
like in RPG's where you can have only one weapon, one shield, one armor, etc.etc.etc.
i'm too lazy to look for a tutorial ;[

By triggers...

To remove the item based on what you want, here is the trigger
Trigger:
  • Item Remove
    • Events
      • Unit - A unit comes within (range) of (quest giver)
    • Conditions
    • Actions
      • Item - Remove Item carried by (Triggering Unit) of type (the item)


I'll try to think for the next problem you have.
