Great game.

I'd definitely get it online for $20 if you need a game to play. Cheap and worth hours of fun.

The only problem is that any time I close the program or shut down my computer, I need to reinstall the game in order to play it again. Otherwise, I get the "missing or inaccessible data file" error.

Anyone know anything about this?

The game gets my thumbs up  I used to love that game.

About your problem: That's very strange... Which operating system are you running?

I'm running XP...

I don't understand what the problem could possibly be. I downloaded the full game through a purchase, so there's no way I coulnd't have the disc inserted.

Maybe you should try to redownload the installer file.

I have multiple times, but it seems on this reinstallation, it started working again. For now, that is...

Great game, indeed.

This was one of my favorite childhood games as well.

I remember having tons of fun creating roller coasters, coming up with all kinds of cool ideas.

One of my designs was a coaster that starts around 80ft off the ground on top of a large cube of raised ground, and the track would go in and out of the cube at random areas. It made it look really cool when I enclosed the ceiling with Abstract theming, and you could see coasters coming out of the block where you least expected it.

Creating those kinds of coasters was always the most fun. XD
I also always enjoyed making hedge mazes but leaving squares open so I could put in towers to make it seem like a castle dungeon.

As it turns out, after a bout of frustration in which I had to close the game to get my computer running at full speed (though the game process is frozen when minimized), I need to reinstall it to play again. It's become a process. :banghead:

I only played the original Roller Coaster Tycoon and its expansions. I didn't buy the sequels because they didn't seem as appealing as the original.

The second one was just as good as the first, but the third one killed it for me...

The whole 3D thing didn't work well for the game. My dad and I used to play the first one for hours when I was a kid. I got it for my birthday one year. :p

Why is that (in your opinion)? I was contemplating whether to buy 3 or not. I always enjoyed the tycoon series (even Railroad Tycoon).

I personally did not like the newer graphics that they introduced. The gameplay was fairly similar though, with a few new features.

QFT.
The second one is the best. I'd recommend it to anyone.

Man, my sister used to play this everyday, all night long
Then I got attracted to it. And also did my brother. We all used to like this game. Steel Mini Roller Coaster is definitely fantastic, although just a basic coaster, you could make great fun with it :p

Signatures can be edit in your account profile. As for the old stuffs, I'm thinking it's because Blizzard is now under Microsoft, and because of Microsoft Xbox going the way it is, it's dreadful.

Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though
  • Varine Varine:
I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work
  • Varine Varine:
Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm
  • Varine Varine:
So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man
  • Varine Varine:
I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.
  • Varine Varine:
Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
  • Varine Varine:
Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
