I use JASS Shop Pro, it runs pretty nicely in WINE, but sometimes has errors, and it has the function list to the right of the editor. I agree though, it can be a pain when not on windows.
Wow, using [LJASS]//! import[/LJASS] for my map is great. Working entirely in JASS Shop is great. And I love not having to use [LJASS]//! zinc[/LJASS] and [LJASS]//! endzinc[/LJASS], because that really killed the C feeling.
Uhh nice one I'm advancing to technology engineering - though i realy like to make my own stuff, and especially the designing process - I might end up like you one day, switching to something more design focused

The suggestions are agreed very useful in many things, not just mapping - I'm studying Engineering and I use something similar to generate ideas and projects - so it's very wide in fact:thup:
