Filipino Spaghetti
This Filipino Spaghetti recipe is a unique Filipino variation of spaghetti with interesting flavors.
Ingredients:
- 8 ounces spaghetti noodles
- 1 Tablespoon oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup banana ketchup
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup grated cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Hot dogs, sliced (optional)
- Cheddar cheese, grated (for topping)
- Large Skillet
- Cook spaghetti noodles according to package instructions, then drain and set aside
- In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat
- Add minced garlic and chopped onion, then saute until fragrant
- Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it up into small pieces
- Stir in banana ketchup, tomato sauce, water, and brown sugar
- Bring to a simmer and cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly
- Add grated cheese to the sauce and stir until melted
- Season with salt and pepper to taste
- Optional - add sliced hot dogs to the sauce and cook for an additional 3-5 minutes
- Serve over cooked noodles, topped with grated cheddar cheese
