Sausage Gravy Breakfast Pizza
Easy homemade Sausage Gravy Breakfast Pizza recipe that makes a down home and comforting breakfast option.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb breakfast sausage
- 1 pre-made pizza dough or homemade dough
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 3 large eggs, lightly beaten
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 Tablespoon olive oil
- Fresh chives or green onions, chopped for garnish
- Skillet
- Preheat oven 475 F (245 C)
- If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven now
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned and crumbled and drain excess grease, leaving about 2 tablespoons in the skillet
- Sprinkle flour over sausage, stirring to combine
- Gradually whisk in milk and bring to a simmer then cook until thickened, 5-7 minutes
- Season with salt and pepper
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface then brush with olive oil
- Pre-bake the crust on a preheated pizza stone or baking sheet for 5 minutes
- Spread sausage gravy over the pre-baked crust
- Top with scrambled eggs, then sprinkle with both cheeses
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbly
- Garnish with chives or green onions
- Let cool for a few minutes, slice, and serve
