Southern Pecan Praline Cake

This Southern Pecan Praline Cake recipe makes a delicious summer dessert.

Ingredients:
  • 1 box butter cake mix
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 9 x 13 inch baking pan
  • Large bowl
  • Saucepan
Directions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C)
  • Grease and flour a 9 x 13 inch baking pan
  • Sprinkle chopped pecans evenly over the bottom of the pan
  • In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, oil, water, and eggs
  • Beat on medium speed until well mixed
  • Pour batter over pecans in the prepared pan
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, combine butter, sweetened condensed milk, and brown sugar
  • Cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture is bubbly
  • Remove from heat and add heavy cream and vanilla
  • Stir until smooth
  • Pour sauce over the hot cake when it comes out of the oven
  • Allow cake to cool completely before serving
