Southern Pecan Praline Cake
This Southern Pecan Praline Cake recipe makes a delicious summer dessert.
Ingredients:
- 1 box butter cake mix
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup water
- 3 large eggs
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup butter
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 9 x 13 inch baking pan
- Large bowl
- Saucepan
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C)
- Grease and flour a 9 x 13 inch baking pan
- Sprinkle chopped pecans evenly over the bottom of the pan
- In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, oil, water, and eggs
- Beat on medium speed until well mixed
- Pour batter over pecans in the prepared pan
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine butter, sweetened condensed milk, and brown sugar
- Cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture is bubbly
- Remove from heat and add heavy cream and vanilla
- Stir until smooth
- Pour sauce over the hot cake when it comes out of the oven
- Allow cake to cool completely before serving
