Hey people , I am thinking about starting this map , just I'd like to know , what do you think about the idea .

This will be a FFA hero arena/minigame like map , (team modes will be added) . Each player will control a shaman , which will be able to choose 4 spells (triggered ones ofc) , and then battle with another shamans . Players will be able to change they skills every time they die , so you will be able to test out different combinations

I think you should work with the idea some more before expecting opinions, as in theory it might seem like a good idea... but once you get deeper into it you may find it just plain doesn't work.

Spellbooks are great for stashing aura's and spells that aren't used on a frequent basis, but when critical spells are stored inside it becomes a bit of a gameplay hassle. Even if implemented correctly, to use the system effectively the player's will have to learn the hotkeys for each spellbook and then remember the hotkeys for each of the 11 spells it contains. Even if set out in a z,x,c,v method for spellbook hotkeys and then a q-r,a-f,z-c arrangement for the internal spells, it can be a confusing and daunting experience... especially for new players. If someone took the time to master the system they would have more then an imba advantage over new or casual players, and this would turn alot of people off your game.

Intense systems can really slow down the fluidity of the warcraft 3 gaming experience, and you may find you put alot of work into this (44 impressive/useful spells is alot of work lol, even just in the concept stage) just to have it overlooked. Then again, it may just work perfect and turn out to be a rather enjoyable game.

That's why I suggest you set up some sort of basic alpha and test it out, otherwise the feedback you are going to get is going to be either really sceptical or purely conceptual.

Murder, i think that his idea is verry good, BUT imagine if you have 4-5 spells that atack in each spellbook.THen the battles are gonna last seconds. Also the 4 types of spells are a bit too used up for me.The idea is good but...Murder have you played battlemages? this map looks kinda like that one, but i didn't have the stomach to play a map who's creator sais stuff like "it is super cool " or "this fits perfectly with a part of bla bla bla..."

I agree with Murder. (sorta). Personally, I don't like so many spellbooks because you are then basically "spamming" spells. It's not exactly skilled-micro when just remembering all your hotkeys and activating like 15 spells in like 5 seconds, which, if the skills are balanced as to normal stats, would end the battle in a 5 seconds.

Maybe you choose a specific aspect, and you stick to that single spellbook? And you could have secondaries of different aspects.

Gettin Betta! Seroiusly, now you are talkin'!I wanna help you out- instead of 4 spells give the player some lumber with wich he can buy skills. He can have up to 6 at a time(life) but moore powerfull spells need moore lumber. This will stop a player from buying 4 ultimates.
