Another storm here. Also some rain and freezing rain. Damn it, this is going to ruin the skiing.

i envy all of you who get good snowfalls (especially daxtreme... 8 f***ing feet of the stuff!!!). best snow we get in ireland falls in the morning when everyones asleep, and has turned into slushy snow in an hour or two.

i love snow, as long as theres enough for a snowball fight etc. if theres snow, but very little of it, it feels like the snow is laughing at everyone who sees snow and expected fun, then finds out that the snow is so... lacking... that its just a nuisance. i havent seen proper snowfall in ireland for years (only remembrance of good snowfall i have is from pictures at home, when i was about 8 years old)

only bad thing about snow is really cold hands and feet, getting hit by snowballs is 10x more enjoyable than cold fingers/toes :p

:(

Snow is somewhat cool, but not when it falls November 21st!

I know some people who were eagerly awaiting for snow. I was not.

During winter here in Quebec City, snow can go up to 8 feet tall on the border of the streets. Lame

So yea, yesterday and today we've had some huge storm, and about 1 ½ foot of snow, already. It won't go away, too.

So, watcha think? Do you like/love/hate/[del]spit at[/del] snow?

Personally, I like it as long as it's not in my home's entrance...

O__O you live at Quebec City? lol i live montreal so close...
and yea i feel ya, March 5th i thought i would stop snowing but it just had to snow at the 5th ><... so annoying...

And to answer to ur question, i HATE snow, just at the sight of it...

I will have awesome pics in the next few days, of a classic residential street (my street :p).

There's one house with a snow "mountain" really. it's about 20-25 ft high!

I mean, it's right in front of their house. :p They can't see a thing in the street.

> lol i live montreal so close...

Is it the same in Montreal?

kinda, not that much thought, around the ~28cm, back in december we had like 40cm of snow >< but the neighbor has a gigantic mountain of snow that kinda "growed" because his son was too lazy to shovel all the snow during snowstorms XD...

Well if we are going to be showing pictures of the snow,

We have some nice mounds over here too. It's warm today so hopefully some of it will melt.
I hear many people in and around Quebec City have covered driveways so they don't have to shovel. Is that true?

'Tis my neighbours. Just know that there is a street somewhere between my position and the 2 houses. :D

That snow pile in the center is actually 20+ ft high. I took the picture and I was already higher than street-level.

Who needs snow when you have that?

That is... almost 15 ft!

Where is that?

We are going to break all-time records this winter. Highest was 467 cm, in 1969.

Signatures can be edit in your account profile. As for the old stuffs, I'm thinking it's because Blizzard is now under Microsoft, and because of Microsoft Xbox going the way it is, it's dreadful.

Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though
  • Varine Varine:
I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work
  • Varine Varine:
Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm
  • Varine Varine:
So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man
  • Varine Varine:
I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.
  • Varine Varine:
Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
  • Varine Varine:
Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
  • Ghan Ghan:
