I need spell ideas that revolve around the earth element. I have tried the spells index and i lack creativity, so anyone has any ideas i would appreciate it. I will give credit if i use the spell.

Earth Drag:
Move the earth beneath the target's feet, dragging it towards you.

Earth Spikes:
Creates a spike beneath every enemy within range feet, dealing damage and throwing them in the air. When they land, they are stunned and take additional damage.

Earth Walk:
Places a enchatment on allies within range, increasing their move speed. The closer they are to you, the bigger the bonus is, and viceversa.

Shock Trident:
Creates 3 shockwaves in front of you, each dealing and dragging enemies with them as they get hitted.

For Strength types:
Earth jumping thingy (you decide what name you'll use)
the hero jumps to a target area, creating a steep hole on where he lands, dealing damage to units and slowing them, units inside cannot climb out of the hole except for the hero until the duration

For Agility types:
Clay thingy (again you decide)
the hero covers himself with magical clay that when taking damage from an attack, he automatically shifts out of existence, moving to a random point near him, leaving the clay molds to the attacker, making the attacker unable to move or attack

For Intelligence types:
Earth Pulse
the hero enables to control the land, creating a pulse underneath a target unit's position, throwing units near the pulse, dealing damage and slowing them

Tremor Break:
The [Hero] slams the ground with his/her mighty arms/fists/weapon etc. and unleashes a number of tectonic shockwaves. The number of shockwaves increases with level, as does the damage they cause and the distance they travel.

-Level 1: 4 shockwaves, 75 damage, small distance.
-Level 2: 6 shockwaves, 160 damage, middling distance.
-Level 3: 8 shockwaves, 320 damage, long distance.

i am posting for two reasons:

1, to say thanks to all the help so far
and
2, to put this thread back to the top of the list\

hehehe;)

I know you don't know jass, but I can't help it, that spell would be cool:
Quicksand -
Creates a hole at a target area. Units within the area will be drawn towards the middle of the quicksand pit, and if they reach the middle, they will be heavily damaged over time and unable to move for the remaining of the quicksand's duration.

To prevent this from being rigged, make the hole take a second or two to create, but make its aoe big and the pull strong. Make sure you use SetUnitX and SetUnitY to give people a change to resist.

Terra Nova - Makes a cool litte nova that blasts rocks from the hero in all directions.

Awwws so I gotta come up with a new one? Mmmm...

Fury of the Earthen - Spawns Earthen spirits (Mountain Giants scaled down to dwarvish size :D) to come to the heroes aid and make things hurt...kinda like Feral Spirit but less wolfy and more earthy.

Not flashy as most skills but...

Here are my ideas:D Though they're a bit flashy and/or complex for JASS coding/spellmaking.

Gravity Basin
- Creates a small pit with a XX Radius in a very short period of time. The basin then suddenly rises and becomes a hill, throwing all units that were once inside the basin high up in the sky, then the hill reverts back to the original terrain of that area. The victims fall down to the ground, taking serious damage and XX stun duration.

Rocket Soil
- Creates a ball of dirt that moves in a line about XX Distance. The thing that makes this spell unique, if it moves farther on land, it becomes bigger and deals more damage. If it moves farther on water, it becomes smaller and deals less damage, and the earth ball might dissipate even before reaching the alotted distance.

[You know in some movies/cartoons (lol:D) in avalanches, snowballs careen downhill and they get bigger]

Puddle of Mud
Only works on ground, not water.
Makes the soil in the target area finer for a few seconds, making them susceptible even to water vapor. The soil in that area gets muddy, and any unit who enters that area will sink in to the mud, gets slowed, takes damage.

Earth Elemental
Summons an earthly creature. Depending on which kind of terrain you target (except water, btw this doesnt work on water), the creatures summoned are different.

If you target this spell on Grass, then you'll get a Grass Elemental. If it's on rocky terrain/tiles, then you get a Rock Golem. If on snow, then a Snow Golem. If on ice, an Ice Golem. If on mud, a Mud Golem. If on sand, then a Sand Golem. If on dirt, a Dirt/Earth Golem. If on marble, a Marble Golem. And so on and so forth... as much as you want.

Stone Wall
Conjures up a wall of stone in a target point, used to block opponents and stuff.

Rain of Stone
Throws a volley of pebbles in a target area, dealing damage and slowing down enemies.

Quake Aura
An aura of great energy which makes the ground around the Hero in a XX radius react to this energy. Any unit walking on this ground will experience a micro-shockwave which constantly deals damage, gets slowed down and knocks them back away from the hero.

EDIT:
Skeleton Sandman
Just like Raise Skeleton. Creates a skeleton from a corpse. This is different, however. Soil, rocks, stone and sand cover the Skeleton, and the bones become stone themselves, turning him into some sort of a sandman which deals more damage, takes more damage and has special abilities that make use of Earth as an element. When this skeleton dies, the Sandmen around him (in a small area) become more powerful, more HP, more armor.

uhm i have a spell that you would like. Its in vjass and its called swamp of the underworld.
It creates the targeted area into quicksand slowing all units caught in it, and dealing dps to them. I can share cause im not greedy :D

I'll give it a shot:

Metal Meltdown (Active, Single Target)
Channels mana into the armor of the target from a distance, causing the metals and materials it was built up out of to melt and burn his skin for X damage per second. In addition, molten armor provides no defence, thus the targets armor is reduced by X for the time being. Lasts for X seconds.

Dusty Residue (Passive)
Every time the hero casts a spell involving the earth element, a percentage of his mana leaks and whips up a small but vicious dustcloud around him. This damages opponents within a 250 radius by X damage per second and gives them a 20% chance to miss an attack. Lasts X seconds.

Rock Core (Passive)
The hero forms a small layer of rock around his skin and fuses his inside with the earth element to grant himself a Rock Core. This skill passively grant the hero +X damage. When the enemies cut to deep into his skin however, meaning his health drops below 40%, the rock layer and the damage bonus is lost and the Rock Core is exposed. This grants the hero +X armor and +X strength untill his health goes above 40% again.

Mudflow (Active, target point)
The hero targets a point and creates a mudflow between him and that point, which lasts for X seconds. Enemies in the mudflow can still move, but are moved 150 units of distance towards the end of the mudflow every second. In addition, the mudflow attempts to drown them and causes them to take X damage for every 150 units of distance they are moved by it.

Rock Tomb (Active, target point)
Creates a tomb at the target point that lasts untill a new tomb is created or it is triggered. When an enemy moves close to that point, rocks rise all around him and move towards the centre, squishing him. This deals X damage and stuns for X seconds.

Granite Arena (Active, target AOE)
Targets an 450 AOE, causing granite walls to rise all around it. These prevent any unit from moving out of the cirkle, or any unit from moving in. Lasts for X seconds.

"Nameless"

Creates a line of earthquakes stunning every enemy opponant that walks near the eartquakes.

Like that Taurens spell in DotA

- = earthquake

(Caster) --------(creep - Stunned)----- (target)stunned

I just disabled that test site. Let's see if that helps the load.

    Looks much better already.

I had actually forgot about the Silkroad site. I had asked
  • The Helper The Helper:
SD Ryoko about it and he said the couple of people left on there really like it, that was a few years ago, maybe I should check back

I guess when you're getting old, and the last day of soup season draws near, you start wondering
  • jonas jonas:
will I make it to the start of the next season? or was this the last time I'll ever have my favorite dish?

I am doing my first Vibe Coding project. In installed the environment and tools according to instructions but it is all chat doing this for me at my direction. It is fun really and holy shit I might finish in 2 hours what it would have taken a day to in my Access and this would be an electron app complete new
  • Ghan Ghan:
    Good stuff.
  • Ghan Ghan:
Just make sure it is secure. :)
    +1
  • The Helper The Helper:
It will only be on internal network
  • jonas jonas:
Man the AI is good about gaslighting about security though. I've had several times where I pointed out security problems and it tried to convince me that with a tiny tweak it suddenly becomes secure
  • jonas jonas:
Like using a distrobox as a "secure" container, and when I point out that's not secure at all, it claimed that specifying home will make it secure
  • The Helper The Helper:
Yeah I finished the app today and it is bad ass. Like ChatGPT codes way better and faster than me that is for sure. The app is unsecure AF though and I would never put it anywhere it was obvious. I did not even show it today, the boss never made it in, but I showed the office and they liked it and frankly, I do software for a living and I am qualified to judge this kind of stuff and... Holy Shit this is a game changer. It took me around 4 hours to finish the app from design to end and that is much faster than I could have done it in the outdated MS Access the thing it replaced was in. Good Stuff! Had tons of fun doing it too! Work has not been fun in a while - today was fun!

And really, I did not do it, chat wrote all the code I just pasted it in, tested it, acted like Chats eyes on it and just learned. I learned VS Code, how to use the Terminal and a bunch of Powershell and Command stuff, I used Git for the first time and learned how to save, search, start my server, stop it, run the tests, do some debugging - all the freaking fun stuff - chat wrote all the code

  • The Helper The Helper:
I think the key was the 40 minutes of that 4 hours that went into the design of it. The thing was fully specced out before we started and the only reason it took so long was I had never done any of it and had to get used to the navigation and workflow.

  • The Helper The Helper:
React, JS and AG Grid are the tools that I know i used along with git. I learned alot but it will be a minute before I fully understand everything I am doing in these environments because I am really just following instructions.

  • jonas jonas:
I think people who aren't logged in can't even see this chat, so your message letting them know they won't be able to register is also hidden xP
  • jonas jonas:
but yeah on LLM they're pretty capable now, I used opencode to build a custom agent for some tasks I face, and the custom agent ended up doing better than either opencode or specialized tools that have been developed for 20 years by humans
  • jonas jonas:
at the same time it is so stupid and making insanely dumb mistakes, I had to stop it several times from doing really dumb things that would work for just a few cases but would be totally broken for more serious workloads, or sometimes were always broken (like just drop some responses from the LLM, then continue with some fake message) but would not trigger immediate problems
  • jonas jonas:
I had to babysit it a lot, I'm not sure if in the near future better models will come around at a similar price point. If the price increases by more than 10x, it will be cheaper for me to do it myself again
  • The Helper The Helper:
I use it a little different due to my programming background. I dont let it just do it. I am behind it watching what it does and learning. However, Chat has not been making many mistakes. Mostly it is me pasting wrong or something.
  • The Helper The Helper:
Wow, I have left windows behind on my home pc. I am not using Linux Mint babies
  • Ghan Ghan:
    Nice
  • Ghan Ghan:
Fewer and fewer reasons to use Windows these days.

Had to type my password like 50 times already though
