Swamp!

Well, this is my first shot at making a swampy/type corrupted area, most of the map is island/foresty type, then I'll have a couple deadish/swampy type.. I put rain in it, and put water everywhere. I'm still not finished with it, but this is what I have so far of some of the area I'm terraining, I know its not great, but I wanted some input. Also that purple Spirit Tower is part of a undead base thats gonna be there... So ignore it.

I took the advice of making the fog white and changing z to 0... Looks nice, though can be hard to see.. Heres 2 newer Screenies.. Tell me what you think.

Looks cool. Maybe increase the fog transparency? It's a bit hard to see.

Turn off the waves. Swamp water is supposed to be stagnant.

The water seems to blue and clear for a swamp

Agreed. Turn of the waves and make it green, would probably look better. And those trees do not look very "swampy". Maybe use the northrend trees and tint them slightly green? Just an idea. And use some shrub and river rushes?

Erm this isnt just a terrain map, its a actual playable map, and is just a swampy area in it.

I would agree, but I dont need to drastically change everything for this small sction of the map =P

I think that it looks more of a forest that is being flooded than a swamp
But that's probably just me

I picture swamps with vines and more of a jungle feeling to them

If it's a corrupted swamp, then I think the green fog would fit the theme better
Is there a way to make it a bit lighter, more transparent perhaps?

Edit: Perhaps if you added more dark green stuff there, herbal life you know

Stagnant water bring a lot of algiers and those in turn brings some dead plants and a lot of insects and a horrible smell if you can smell it.
