I actually don't really see a "point" to this forum, considering it is nothing more than the extention of TH'net's entertainment area and GH's general view.

I created GH with the mindset to create an entertainment space. In general, entertainment. That is/was the overall goal, to discuss things that entertain people... From movies and music, to role-playing games and video games. I even have plans for huge extentions to the recent huge extention I did, re-structuring the forum.

Hell, I always have plans.

And now someone's trying to re-invent what I have... Hmm. Now I know how TH really feels when everyone constantly breaks off because they're not the power behind a site, or because they wanna "own" something.

Good luck. But I don't support this.

Honesty, at it's bluntest.

I'm trying to do exactly what you are doing. I think it one of the things that brought the few spiders we had. You are the big guy I look up to. :p

I disagree with you. Firstly, currently our most active forum is the debates, which is something I'm not sure is active at GH. Secondly we have a huge focus on the Entertainment forum, I try to post guides, reviews and impressions daily. Also, as said the way we play to work is different, we are taking it to the extreme.

Thanks for being honest, I'm sorry that you feel that way.

Really? Because we have a debate forum set aside. We also have reviews. I don't know what you mean by impressions, but I've never said no to "guides" to anything, especially games, since we have a forum for that, too.

Take a look at GH. I don't know if you've been on since I made the re-structuring, and if you haven't... Maybe that's why you don't understand.

B) We plan to work quite differently than how TH.net works. As said in the thread I linked members are the key point really. Obviously in TH.net it is a similiar situation but we are going for the extreme. Members > staff, always. Of course, if a conflict would arise the staff would be the final group to decide, however, with our 'policy' a conflict should never arise. This excludes personal conflicts.

That sounds interesting - I'll try to register when I get a chance. :)

Thanks for everyone who registered and supported! We appreciate you helping our little, new community grow. Recently we got a few search engine's spiders checking the site which really gives us motivation to keep posting content.

As said the goal here is to make a forum ran by members and moderators. It is still hard to see it as the forum is so small but if it will grow bigger the goal is to make the staff not as actively involved in the forum. Of course it doesn't mean we are going to let everyone do as they wish but members would have much more flexibility.

I hope to see you there soon. :D

well if you want to bring moderators close to members don't give so much reputation to admins and moderators since that makes the difference really great.

When did ever reputation change something? :p Moderators+ have high reputation just to make sure it is easy to make out who they are.

It doesn't have to change anything. New members (and more often than not, old ones too) only care about having plenty.

> to make sure it is easy to make out who they are
Considering the previous members>staff post, shouldn't you be trying to achieve the exact opposite?

Not really. We are not going for complete chaos, let everyone do what they want, no authority, no, really not what we have in mind. There is some authority, there is some watching, and there are people who make sure the forum doesn't become a complete spam place. Flexibility and consideration doesn't make authority disappear and doesn't make it any less important, only not as active.

Hmm, how do I change my signature?
  • tom_mai78101 tom_mai78101:
Signatures can be edit in your account profile. As for the old stuffs, I'm thinking it's because Blizzard is now under Microsoft, and because of Microsoft Xbox going the way it is, it's dreadful.

@tom_mai78101 I must be blind. If I go on my profile I don't see any area to edit the signature; If I go to account details (settings) I don't see any signature area either.

You can get there if you click the bell icon (alerts) and choose preferences from the bottom, signature will be in the menu on the left there https://www.thehelper.net/account/preferences

Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though
  • Varine Varine:
I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work
  • Varine Varine:
Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm
  • Varine Varine:
So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man
  • Varine Varine:
I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.
  • Varine Varine:
Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
  • Varine Varine:
Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
