I'd rather die than be locked in prison for the rest of my life.

The death sentance is always more costly than life imprisonment. All the lawyers fees, paying juries, etc. adds up MUCH more for death sentances than it does for life imprisonment.

People aren't born bad. They become bad. If you just find what altered them there is a high chance you can help them change to at least something more functional.
