Yup. 2.8c fixes a lot of the problems found in 2.8b. I believe 2.8c is more then stable/balanced enough to tide us over to 2.9 which will feature some major developments.

You're not supposed to open the map - I think - but you should be able to play it.

Open meaning opening with World Editor.

On wc3search you can download the baby murloc I think that would be helpful for you
