Unit AI

So i have a map where units are continusly created and sent. It works fine, they get created, go where i tell them.

My problem is they dont use ANY spells i give them. I have the razormane group (quillboar/razor scout/quillboar hunter/razormane brute/medicine man/ and chieftian) The only skills that are used are autocast skills that are default activated.

Some skills that are never cast, Warstomp and ensnare.

Mana is good, ive created these units and controlled them and i am postive they actually work in game; just they are never cast.

Is thier some way to make them use thier abilities?

I haven't figured out if there is a way to program an AI to use custom units, but you could use triggers, something like:

Event: A unit is attacked

Condition: (Event response: Attacked Unit) has (War Stomp) Equal to True.
And: (Owner of (Event response: Attacked Unit)) = Player 2 Equal to True.

Action: Issue Order (Warstomp) to (Event Response: Attacked unit).

... And the like...?

It might be possible with the AI Editor, but most of the people who use World Editor, will use Trigger Editor because it has10x more options and it works very very well
this is an example of something done in the trigger editor,

Yep, one of the problems of the AI. Units do not magically use their abilities automatically, unless it is one of the default ones (or based on one). The AI is programmed to use the ability at certain points. For example, an AI controlled unit will usually use firebolt when a unit is running away, or when it first sees an enemy.

However, when you have a custom ability that does absolutely nothing (it is triggered to do so), the computer is simply going to pass over the ability, not seeing any worth in using the ability.

Ensnare, for example, is only really useful when you have a unit trying to stop an enemy from escaping. Your units simply attack-move to the point, they don't try to run away, and so there's not much point in using the ability.
