Unit to doodad?

Im trying to make a statue from a unit, making a doodad with the model of a unit and changing the coulor to match the coulor of a statue(gray) but when i do this the doodad still moves as a unit, Is their anyway i can turn his animations off?
Or is their any other way to make a unit look like a statue?

You can change this now in User CP.

Sounds odd. Are you sure you are placing the actual doodad and not just the unit?

You can't directly convert doodad to unit but you can do the following:

1. Create unit in object editor that looks like your unit but has selection scale of -1. (this will make it not have health bar), note: if you can make it building and locust will still work on it then it should show in the fog aswell, making it indistingishable from doodad.
2. Put it on the map.
3. Animation - set animation speed to 0%.
4. Ability - add Locust (you have to use custom script in order to do so:

5. Unit - Pause unit
6. Store the unit as variable.
7. Replace the unit with your original one when it 'awakens'.

Notes: you can change the color of an unit with one of 'animation' functions or teamcolor with one of 'unit' functions.

Ah fuck, I misread it and thought doodad to unit, skip the two last points then.

Animation - Change Unit Animation Speed, 0%. Point 3 in thorhunter's first post.

@thorhunter: You know about the edit button, right?

:rolleyes: The words "edit" in the bottom right corner of your post, which you can use to change it's contents instead of making a new post.
