Ways of Destiny

Here is a brand new map for Warcraft III the Frozen Throne:

Ways of Destiny let's you choose between 10 heroes, each of them totally or partially made from scratch to give you the ultimate playing experience.

Examples are:
The Bone Horror, a hero specialized on creating armies of skeletons,
The Enforcer, a bandit hero who can choose between axe and spear, and torture enemies to join his side.
The Golem Lightstrider, a strong warrior hero who throws soulstones at enemies,
The Netherlord, master of netheral energies who can summon and enter an infernal juggernaught.

Each hero can gain 25 levels and achieve 5 different skills (one ultimate) with 5 levels of each skill, 3 for the ultimate skill.

Explore a giant world in this single-player, story-based map.

Version: 0.8
Playability: Maybe undiscovered bugs and some balance issues than need to be fixed, otherwise almost complete.


Some of the Features:
-Compared to many other RPG maps, where the player can choose between a really large number of heroes to play with, Ways of Destiny instead have only 10 heroes, but very unique and different from each other.

-Explore many different environments like The Open Fields, The Swamp of Death, The Great City, The Snowy plains, The Sinken City of Baston, and so on...

-Choose your way of play. Not happy with a reward? Kill the villager! Ok, you will be attacked by the city guards, but perhaps the villager will be holding a better reward.

-Join a faction. From time to time you will be asked to join one of the factions of the game. Choosing no will certainly give you a big battle, rewarding you with experience, choosing yes will give you an item to use for the sake of your faction.

-Epic boss battles. Fight The Enslaver, The Council of Wrath, The Forgotten and many more ancient and epic enemies. At the end of the game you will be fighting The One, the demon of demons, evil of evils, the world's bane.

Some of the The Factions:
The Order of Truth: The group which fights for light and the sake of good. Their leader is called Arthas and lives in the Great City. At first The Order seems good at first, but they are carrying a great secret which could change the world...
The Cult of the Damned: The group consisting of Undead, monters and beasts, sworn enemies with the Order.

Some of the The Enemies:
The One: The World's bane, the demon of demons, the evil of evils. He threatens to return to this world and destroy it...
The Mountain Lord: A rabies-infected crazed ogre...

...and MUCH more in this beta-version of WAYS OF DESTINY.

I've fixed alot of bugs now, so if you have a previously downloaded version, download this instead.

Suggestion :
More doodads can be good... especially grass and flowers (you're forgetting Mother Nature )

Any reason why anyone would want to play it? No offense, but I have no clue what you do ingame. All you did was take some pictures while in the world editor. Terrain needs fixing up badly.

Well at least give it a try... But ok, grass and stuff, you're completely right. Will be fixing this.

---I've fixed A LOT of things now. Ok, the ground is not covered with grass, but at least tha map is playable now.

CRITICAL BUG FIXED where your hero dies when he or she comes too close to the Cult messenger.
Changed the color of the Deathbringer's Permanent Immolation ability.
Added several terrain fixes
Added a whole new region, the Snowlands
Fixed several bugs
Made several balance changes
Removed the Enforcer's permanent invisibility ability

This sentence does not make sense. Other than that, the general idea of this map is a good one. Hehe. (I KNOW YOU HAVE A BETTER ITEM SOMEWHERE! HAND IT OVER!)

Well, actually that's a long story. Shortly:

I had a link in here, but since I needed more storage and nobody was downloading it, I deleted it.

Then after a while, I requested terraining help and laid up a link there. However, nobody helped me, but the link remained.

Well, that's it.

And don't complain about the heroes, their skills are totally made in the OE, no triggers or JASS, and as such I think they are pretty good.

The only thing I think remain is the balancing. Currently it's terrible, test and see what I mean.

I think that's a pretty good reason to complain about the heroes; not triggering spells.

Heh, yes that may be true, what I meant was: Do not write posts as: You such at triggering spells", as I havn't done so. And I will exchange the spells, I've already got maybe half of them done, but will insert them first when (if) a new terrain is made.

Heres an idea:

Allow people to give you trigger spell ideas to replace normal spells on your heros, allowing for your map to gain a better play.

Yes, will do that, but currently I'm busy at other, non WE-related projects (if you're curious, the The Quest Editor from Redshift)

I'm currently waiting for a partner who can do the terrain.
