What is an infraction?

I got a message from the helper saying i got an infraction.
from the content in the message, i can tell i screwed up.
but what is an infraction?

It's like a yellow card in soccer. Don't play or understand soccer? Me neither but I was a referee for a few years.

Actually the forum has some kind of system where these infractions have certain point values and it can auto-ban you if you get too many, not sure if we really use it that way though. (Usually any bans handed out are done manually.)

If the one who gave them decides they should. Yours is permanent - behave and someone might remove it.

Well an infraction in the law is when you do something wrong...example speeding...you get an infraction...too many of those..and ..you get the jist of it

Well, Infraction is like a synonym to infringe, so:

It just means to violate something.

Rofl.. Hero, you're acting like once you get banned it is the end of the world.

I think the admins/mods usually ban you for a certain time, but if you do something really bad then they most likely will ban you forever. I forgot why Cohadar got banned.
