you better use grunt head hunters/ghoul crypt fiend/archer huntress instead of humans UNLESS you do a evil = heroes and light = spawned units...

Also, i think atk type can change since you can have ranged heroes, melee heroes, dont base youself on that to make a hero siege, base yourself on the attack dice and side per dice, that's what make all the difference.

For Def type, you should use medium def type for creeps and hero def type for... guess what.. heroes!

cause humans are the ''light side'' of warcraft and undeads/orcs are the ''dark side'' of warcraft. So it makes more sense if you make the heroes in the light side (meaning humans) and the creeps in the dark side (meaning orcs and undeads.) Elves are more ''neutral'' then anything...

BUT that doesnt mean you can't make undead/orcs/humans and night elves heroes.

Just make the attackers evils, it is sexier, thrust me

well actally humans orcs and NE are the light side and undead/demon (including fel orcs) are the dark... the orcs have a very strong connection to nature and are conservative, the only reason they hate humans and visa versa is cuz they are at war and also with bush as a human representitive we arnt that far from the UD ^^

Of course, both creeps from either side should be identical for balancing issues.

>how should the terrain be ...... and wat map size should i use there is allso going to be special events

Depends. Do you want it vertical or horizontal? Maybe vertical would be cool, enemies pushing from top to bot, kinda gives the impression that the "heroes" need to hold their ground as they have no where to go. Dimensions are up to you, but i would give some space of each side for some "secrets" or special events.

X Hero Seige is a good Hero Seige map. It's my favorite, atleast.

It is a pretty decent map, but it lacks team play. Any team play in that game is kinda forced (to defeat bosses and large waves). Which isnt a bad thing really, its a pretty unique idea.

But this map's gotta step out of x hero sieges shadow :p. So none of that. I think a siege map that incorporates strategic team play will go down well.

As for map size. Im thinking 64(Width)x96(Height) would be your best bet. Its big, but if you want special events and stuff it will need to be big.

yeah i would base it on the x hero seige size. i would also include special events like in x hero but dont make them the same as x hero cuz they too imba. also dont make an item like x hero's "shield of invul" cuz thats wai too cheap. make it more balanced. id say make for the size base it around x hero, destroy the bottom 2 lanes, and the 2 side lanes, and keep it the top lane so all the heroes must fight the top. also make it like x hero where if u destroy the spawner the next wave comes out, but instead make it so that the next area is further up the map, instead of at the top corners like x hero. also dont make the bosses like in x hero. all he did was give them 1231253123543415 health but really weak, so the bosses only took a LONG time, and wernt actually hard.

I drew up a rough demo of what a 64x96 map would look like, in WE, but i didnt save it to show you sorry. I used footmen as like my outliners :p. It all looked pretty good, i was able to fit the bottom base, the top base and quite a wide lane, as well as two large areas for special events, and also some forest place or something where you can have secrets and neutral creeps or something.

My only concern with 64x64 is that the lane will be short. Seeing that there is only one lane, it will be constantly pushed. One the enemies side of the lane, there should be some type of building (besides towers) that you should have to destroy. There should be about 2-3 of them before the main base. Thats my theory at least.

Hero sieges are about progression. If you give the players a short lane there may not be enough to keep them occupied. A longer lane allows for greater progression, in the form of stronger creeps and bonuses if you kill the buildings.

Definately go for a 96x64 if it is a seige that you are supposed to push back the lanes because otherwise it is to short. I was making a hero seige on a 64x64 and i ended up quitting it after LOTS of hardwork because i didnt have enough pushing lane room. It would be better to just fill in the room with cool looking terrain than run out of room.

i agree. and a square hero seige doesnt seem so "visually appealing" to me for some reason. also you want to make a number of bosses to progress through aswell. if you rly want you could also add a time to finish the game aswell, like 60 minutes i presume? i was just thinking and i hate people on x hero who stretch the game out to like 3 hours just so they can get 10k stats -.-"

Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though
  • Varine Varine:
I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work
  • Varine Varine:
Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm
  • Varine Varine:
So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man
  • Varine Varine:
I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.
  • Varine Varine:
Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
  • Varine Varine:
Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
