I would like to share to you the popular "Adobo"
Now my questions are
• Do you know what adobo is? If yes describe it.
•Have you ever eaten it?
If not you should prepare your kitchen and have a very nice dinner

Pork and Chicken Adobo

Ingredients:
1 cup vinegar
1 head of garlic, crushed
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 bay leaf (optional)
2 tablespoons of rock salt
1 to 4 tablespoons soy sauce to taste
1 onion
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 chicken cut up
1 pound of pork, cut into 1-by-2-inch pieces
Small slice of pork liver, cut into 1-by-2-inch pieces
1 1/2 to 2 cups water
Cooking oil for frying

Directions:
In saucepan, combine vinegar, garlic, pepper, bay leaf, rock salt and soy sauce. Put in chicken, pork and liver. Stir and let soak for 20-30 minutes. Add water and simmer uncovered until tender. Strain sauce from solid ingredients and set aside.
Chop liver finely. Combine with sauce. Set aside. Brown onion, chicken and pork in cooking oil. Return sauce with liver to saucepan, along with onion, chicken and pork. Add sugar.
Cover and simmer until sauce thickens.

Yeah it does.

Well I tried making it and turned out like something you would find in 2Girps1Cup.. so Im like sup garbage can..

Note to self : Im a bad cook. I don"t know where I went wrong probaly in the sauce.

Dont worry I will try to find some cooking videos.....

Heres one, but not so good.....
Theres not much giant onions here in Philippines
so we use some little onions only.



By the way you could also make a Pork Adobo just substitute the chicken, but its more better if you have pork and chicken adobo.

When you get the perfect one up I will cook it up. Looks good, can you do a mix of the chicken and pork or is that taboo?

OMW, I am starving right now, and just reading that recipe is driving me crazy...note to self: learn to cook.

on a food related note...

anybody here who knows what a "balut" is?

it's hard-boiled duck eggs... with a developed embryo.

they even put this dish up in and episode of Fear Factor.

i don't know why foreigners are very unpleased/disgusted/afraid of it.

but it's just like regular food to us filipinos... it's really yummy.

Hard boiled Duck Embryo eh? I will pass, thanks though. Probably easy to make - boil duck embryo ten minutes you are done.

Hehehehe most foreign people vomits when they taste this one. I never knew why, but for us, its very delicious. But I don't like eating some of the seafoods XD

Did it today. Is this supposed to taste really really good? If so I messed up. Tasted like garlic caramel...

Good from what I hear. Comfort food with good mix of the ingredients plus garlic. It looks like it has powerful tastes though that is why I am looking forward to trying it.

How is it served? With noodles or what? I watched the video but I have forgotten or did not get to the end.

well, we filipinos are have rice in all our meals. it's kinda like our staple food.

from what i know... not many foreigners eat rice a lot.
they just eat meat 'n' salads... at least on tv/movies...
