Non-aggresive long range?

The range at which a unit/building/hero will automatically look for targets, and move or attack the target as necessary. Note that the attacking range of a unit/building/hero can never be greater than its acquisition range (see Unit Editor field "Combat - Attack x - Range").
I want the unit to be able to attack very far, but not acquire targets.

First set the acquisition range and attack range of your unit to high numbers, then if you don't want to have it acquire targets at all, use this:

Trigger:
  • Your_Trigger
    • Events
      • Map initialization
    • Conditions
    • Actions
      • Unit - Set Your_Unit acquisition range to 0.00
