Oh well. This is starting to drive me nuts... Well well. As a Christmas gift I got new computer part; AMD Athlon X2 64-bit CPU, new motherboard and RAM. Since then when I've been playing warcraft 3, it's decided just to crash a bit on random.

Any ideas why this is so? All help is wanted. :banghead:

Few things to think of:

-Viruses - Computer's will restart themselves if precious files are hacked into by viruses

-Overheated - Get a better fan, take off your case. Search on google for MotherBoard Monitor, it'll monitor your Computers temperature.

-Incompatibility - Especially different types of ram, like 256mb and 512mb together.

I scan every other day.

CPU temp is always around 25-35
System temp is 30-50(50 at extreme cases) (Checked these in bios)

Got two 1024's Same model and all. Arrived in the same package. I don't know what the temps should be, but on my old comp the CPU temperature was way hotter than now.(Usually got up to 80celsius)

I've never experienced a reboot any other time than playing Warcraft 3.
Something is really weird, methinks.

Oh, and the chassi is still open since I changed parts.

It's probably overheating; the gadget could be sucking out too much power, and warming things up in the process.

I get the same problem on my other PC, although the monitor is the cause, and it shuts down random games, but doesn't shut down on others...

Hey. I've tried changing the properties of the EXE to run like it would in windows 2000. Hasn't crashed since. Don't know if it's luck or if it's the setting, try that and check if it helps.

I've tried to underclock it and such, removed the case, "overclocked"(set the constant speed to the max, the noise was unbearable). Didn't help even when the global temp was 25 degrees celcius, and that's >100% cooler than my old setup.

You've got an integrated GPU btw? If so, what model? If not, what's your GPU model?

I still think it's the CPU causing the problem. Old game + new type of hardware = Bad.

Could be overheating. I had a similar problem, but it was my video card.
