I know how to import models, and get them to work and all. I imported them, took out the wc3impotred from the name, changed the skin to Textures\ArrowMissle.blp, closed and opened WE, but still, it's not working. What am I doing wrong? I'm trying the make the Archer missile look like an Ace of Spades instead of the Archer's arrow.

If you are really really really really sure you import and change path true, model is not working.

Ace of Spades is a Song ^^
But, if you want to import Models, then you just have to remove that "Wc3Imported/" thing in front of the Modelname.
Skin are a bit more difficult to import...

I did take out the first part, and change the skin name. If you read the whole thing you would know that...

And I even tried making a unit look like the card to see if I at least did it right. I got that "Model not found" thing when I try to place it.

Did you make sure that you're using the correct file-path; as in the one that the person who made the model should have told you about in either the read-me that came with the model or on the website where you downloaded it?

You can change this now in User CP.

did you change the skin's filename to the filename that the creator designated as required?

Your problem is simple.

.blp is a texture file, not a model file. You cannot use texture in place of a model. You have to create a model file using your texture.

I made the model myself. i used W3model Editor to turn the ArrowMissle.mdx into a square and changed the skin to a card. To be safe I even went into the Texture Manager in the Model Editing program and removed the arrow skin and replace it with the new one. I imported them all into my map and named them accordingly.

Well i might be able to help because i just learned a bit about skinning and made my first custom skin today. :p I made my giant worm green.

I don't have W3model editor so cant help you there, but i can tell you how i would attempt to make a custom skin using my low tech solution.

Get arrowmissile.mdx and convert it to an .mdl. Then get the .blp skin file and convert it to a tga, bmp or whatever. Open up that file in paint and change the arrow into a spade (be sure to readd the alpha channel). Save the file and convert it back to a .blp. Then import your .blp file to your map.

Now open up the .mdl file using notepad and you should see a bunch of code and stuff. Somewhere in your code it should indicate what paths it uses for textures and change it to Wc3Imported/Skinnamehere.blp. Then import it, change the projectile model of the archer to the imported model and it should work. Remember to import both your .mdx, .mdl and .blp.
