I don't know if any ever saw ROTD on Hive, but yes, it's back! I decided to pick up the project once again.

New features:
- New sound system where the konstruct marines have a definite attack sound
- New AI system where the computers do more intelligent things (Flank, retreat, reinforcements, airstrike)
- Jamming system
- New grenade system where the grenades are actually physically thrown, not mysteriously exploding in one spot
- Same darkness system, but instead this time when a shot is fired or artillery is at a certain spot, the whole area will be lit up.
- Realistic weapon attachments
- Removed save/load levels, instead adding ranking
- A heavier dark feel
- More dynamic items
- Less lag
- No more random crashes, hopefully
- Longer game-play
- Smarter Tank AI battles
- Removed clustered GUI variables
- More items

K I can't tell what this is about, but guessing from the name it sounds like a zombie map, so therefore the one main thing it needs it a lot of dead zombies. Will this map have a lot of dead zombies?

Of course, but you shouldn't worry about the infected, they're, well just there. Realistically unarmored, un-cognitive fleshy organisms running into a line of machine gun fire won't get anywhere really.. The infected goes along with the story line and does effect game play drastically. If you take the attention away from the enemy troops away from the zombies, as you attack them, the zombies will rip them up; same goes for your allies. If they get too occupied with enemy troops, the zombies will mass up.

Sounds good. I can do hero/skill editing, item design, and overall idea spawning if it's needed. As long as you can provide me with a few attachment models here and there, I'd love to help.

EDIT: A bit off-topic, but the map reminds me of what it was like out here a few weeks ago. The darkness, the snow... heh, I'd love to terrain. And not to mention the broken walls. Our economy sucks. ;)

I need someone who can do JASS and save and load ranking systems. And also create small size models from scratch.

" Our economy sucks." It's based in Samara, Russia after a year of war.

There is an amazing system for code (called "Kode") here. I'm sure you'd like to have a look at that. All of the instructions for it are included in the first post on the page. Unfortunately, I don't know JASS, but I'd still like to help if I'm needed.

Anything else I could do?

Let me say it again: All of the instructions for it are included in the first post on the page.

It's just a reccomendation, but it's really useful. I suggest you use it.

I've found an easier method of a save and load ranking system

lol /agree.

Can you give us MORE information about the map please?

News portal has been retired. Main page of site goes to Headline News forum now
  • The Helper The Helper:
I am working on getting access to the old news portal under a different URL for those that would rather use that for news before we get a different news view.
  • Ghan Ghan:
    Easily done

  • The Helper The Helper:
https://www.thehelper.net/pages/news/ is a link to the old news portal - i will integrate it into the interface somewhere when i figure it out
  • Ghan Ghan:
    Need to try something
  • Ghan Ghan:
    Hopefully this won't cause problems.
  • Ghan Ghan:
    Hmm
  • Ghan Ghan:
I have converted the Headline News forum to an Article type forum. It will now show the top 20 threads with more detail of each thread.
  • Ghan Ghan:
    See how we like that.
  • The Helper The Helper:
I do not see a way to go past the 1st page of posts on the forum though
  • The Helper The Helper:
It is OK though for the main page to open up on the forum in the view it was before. As long as the portal has its own URL so it can be viewed that way I do want to try it as a regular forum view for a while
  • Ghan Ghan:
Yeah I'm not sure what the deal is with the pagination.
  • Ghan Ghan:
It SHOULD be there so I think it might just be an artifact of having an older style.
  • Ghan Ghan:
I switched it to a "Standard" article forum. This will show the thread list like normal, but the threads themselves will have the first post set up above the rest of the "comments"
  • The Helper The Helper:
I don't really get that article forum but I think it is because I have never really seen it used on a multi post thread
  • Ghan Ghan:
RpNation makes more use of it right now as an example: https://www.rpnation.com/news/

I will have to get used to this.
