They are all so similar. City with happy people. Destroyed city with dead people. The only vaguely original ones are the robot and the Atlantis one, and the robot one doesn't fit the theme.

Atlantis just matches the " City with happy people. Destroyed city with dead people." theme.
And the only ones that are different are 4,6 and 13.

Becouse of that, I voted for #6:
13 is just too chaotic, and 4... Has ugly border problems.
As uber said, the only bad thing on 6 is the selection circle. I whished the creator had removed that one...

That one isn't an Aftermath... The ones that do fit the theme are unoriginal and boring. The ones that don't (well, some of them...) are.

Well yeah, but it's a different kind of destruction... most of them are just a city on fire with lots of blight.

Aftermath is an agricultural term meaning the grass growing after the first cut of hay. It is now more commonly used figuratively to mean that which happens after a major event.

Nothing of demons, death, fire or whatsoever.
Also, it is an aftermath out of the side of nature. Environmental Pollution, climat change etc etc ;D
It really is. Just that it has some problems with borders.

We all know what the theme of the contest was meant to be. I just don't think building a city really fits the theme.

No need to get rude. If everybody was like you then nobody would ever have original ideas.

Who are you to say what the theme of the contest was 'meant' to be. The theme was a simple word. However you interpret that word, other people are allowed to interpret it differently. If the theme was meant to be specifically hellfire and demons, then the theme would have said 'After the demons attacked' or something.

Ever seen a forest turning into a city? Looks pretty 'aftermath-ish' to me.

Most of the aftermaths were boring, I think.

I liked 10, but the aftermath picture wasn't very good IMO. 1 and 8 were the best two I think, but I voted for 8 in the end.

13 was a good idea, it just needed more work.

I happen to think #4 was the most clever. A peaceful environment destroyed by humans.

#1 is the best (#8 is pretty good too). It isn't overdone with smoke and fire and other effects, but you can tell a cataclysmic event occurred. It looks more like the terrain was actually made to look that way; not just a copy of the first scene with replaced/modified tilesets and doodads and added effects.

Edit: Although I also think #4 is the most clever.

I'm curious what you and 2-P and the other judges were conceptualizing for your own potential entries?

The robot went batshit after the little worker dudes mounted his gun. That's so obvious, please. And even without the story; the robots in the aftermath picture are destroyed, thus it fits to the theme. It's as simple as that.

No idea. I might leave the winner, if he wants, to host the next one. Or anybody else that I consider good enough as organiser, if the winner doesn't wants to.
