A Christian bus driver has refused to drive a vehicle which was plastered with an advert saying: "There's probably no God."

Ron Heather, 62, told his bosses he was horrified at the atheist vehicle, before walking out of his shift.

He told the Daily Mail: "I was just about to board and there it was staring me in the face. My first reaction was horror.

It's just an advertisement. He should realise that whether or not he got on the bus wouldn't alter the outcome of... well... anything really. A bus is a bus. But I guess people gotta do what people gotta do.

Silly? Should be reprimanded in my opinion. I thought the bus driver drives the bus and doesn't get to choose what's on it. Soon I'm sure he'll be offended by non-white non-Christians trying to ride "his" bus.

i don't see what the non-white part has to do with it... but i see where he's coming from, i personally wouldn't like to have "Jesus is you're savior, repent or go to hell" on the side of a bus i was driving. so why should he have to drive a bus that has "there's probably no god" on it... just give him a different bus...

It says "There is probably no God"; which isn't offensive and so whimsically lighthearted you can't really argue with it.

People just need to stop thinking political correctness means bending over backwards for people who have an obvious bias. This isn't even "free" speech; someone paid for the adverts and as such should have their advertisement driven round as desired without complaints.

Discrimination has no boundries.
If he starts discriminating an atheist-ad today, tomorrow an atheist-person.
And the day after that, he will discriminate nazis. After that he will discriminate african people. And so on..

"IF You don't believe in god, you burn in hell"

Side note: no I'm not a christian, but don't bend some of their believes into hypocrisie. Not saying i agree with christians (on the contrary, I'm an atheist), but what you just said is a bit shortsighted.

But... that's not what he's saying... I'm Pagan and i find his claims to be understandable... Whether you believe so or not, Atheism is an attack on (most) religious thinking. It's not an alternate form of belief, it's the idea that you're beliefs are wrong and that there is no true power. So putting the words "There's probably no God" on the side of the bus is an attack on Christianity, and other God based religion. Like I've said i wouldn't want to drive a bus that labels my beliefs as wrong either.

I know that some Christians are known for making attacks on others views, but is it right to turn around and do the same to others? No.

I dont think its political correctness he just didnt want to drive that particular bus, he didnt ask for the company to take off the sign or anything, i dont see whats wrong with being uncomferatable with something that is on the side of a vehicle you drive everyday.

Atheism is not an attack on religious thinking. I don't really see why atheists put this ad up, but I honestly don't care about people's religion. Atheists aren't forcing you to do anything, they're not asking for anything, they just don't believe in god. Believing that there is an all powerful being is at least as craaaazy as believing that there isn't.

He should be allowed to refuse to drive a bus he is uncomfortable with. That's like you not riding a bus you are uncomfortable with.

Christians say "All Are Welcome" meaning just because you aren't a Christian, they won't let you in with them. And I have never seen nor heard anyone going like "If you don't believe in God you will go to hell." That's just one of those stereotype things like how Muslims have stereotypes... and Jewish have stereotypes... etc...
