passive wit a cooldown

i am trying to make the following spell.

10% critcal strike, but can only happen once every 10 sec..
so it would be a 10% cirt with a 10 sec cooldown...

i found:

using the search.. but i do not understand the orb stuff..

could someone explain that to me or tell me another way how i can make passive's with a cooldown..

you mispelled with, critical, every, crit[ical?], someone, and i don't know what the heck vouls is. and your last sentence has a syntax error in it.

Oh well, I guess you'll have to use the Orb of Lightning, it's pretty easy anyway, just trigger it up a little and use spellbooks. :D
 
Then units can't have an item that gives an orb effect.
It's easier just to trigger the whole critical strike.
 
Create an ability based on Orb of Lightning then change the Effect spell to your critical strike, just add cooldown and mana cost (if you want)
 
Using Orb effects as base abilities for heroes and units doesn't work very well. orb effects are very temperamental
 
I agree With triggering IT sounds alot better. I havnt tested this but this might work perfectly. however it wont show the decreasing cooldown on the spell so you wont know when you are able to have a chance of crit again unless you tweak it the same goes for Mui there is Mui versions of this by using arrays and integer loops.

Make a dummy abilty that is passive and dont do anything. And have it give Buffs but preferably a buff that you can make unshowable. (unless it doesnt matter)

add critical abilty in a spellbook. disable it for all palyers at melee initizlation.

you need a Damage Detection System

then make 3 triggers.
and 2 variables both integer variables. one of them should have start value of 10


A unit is attacked.

Set integer = random integer between 1-10

if all conditions are true

integer equal to 1
cooldown greater than 10

then
add spellbook for attacking unit.




unit takes damage.

level of spellbook is greater than 1.

remove spellbook from damage source
set cooldown = 0


every 1 seconds.


set cooldown = cooldown +1


srry if it seems like rubbish i have no WE atm and im tired ^^.
 
oke I have thought long about it and I'm not going to use orb-effects.. so using it with for this wouldn't be a problem..
i have tried it with frost nova.. 100% to cast frost nova as a hero ability based on the orb effect- lightning (new)..
the icon I get is dispas i think (possible reason is becous it has no passive icon) and cool down will not show + it keeps casting it .. (even when it is supposed to be in cool down)
 
looks like editing doest bump..

got the orb thing working..
it only bugs when i save tha map and repoen it..
the mana will be drained then but the spell will not be casted..

and the cooldown wont start either..

annyone know how to fix this??

    It is OK though for the main page to open up on the forum in the view it was before. As long as the portal has its own URL so it can be viewed that way I do want to try it as a regular forum view for a while
