A skill that sacrifices 50% of current hitpoints.

Anyone knows how to put in a trigger that will go like if he use the skill i call Demon Bolt . . .when he use that skill, he will sacrifice 50% of his current hp to use the skill...

i've tried to do it... but i'm too new in the triggers to know it...

XD :)

event
generic unit event - unit starts the effect of an ability (make sure it's not "starts casting"!)

conditions
ability comparison - (ability being cast) is equal to (your ability)

actions
unit - set health (to value) to ( ( health remaining of (triggering unit)) * 0.5 )

Couldn't you use a "if, then, else" action to make that into 1 trigger? I don't know if it would be worth it but it seems like the less triggers would be better.

This isn't quite the whole thing.
2 problems. It doesn't stop the ability and it doesn't give the mana used.
Ow and the And - All (Conditions) isn't needed.

Trigger:

      • Set Manacurrent = (Mana of (Casting unit))

        • Then - Actions
          • Unit - Set life of (Casting unit) to ((Life of (Casting unit)) x 0.50)

          • Unit - Order (Casting unit) to Stop
          • Wait 0.30 seconds
          • Set Manaused = (Manacurrent - (Mana of (Casting unit)))
          • Unit - Set mana of (Casting unit) to ((Mana of (Casting unit)) + Manaused)

Now this will make the hero stop casting and it will give the mana used for the spell back.
One problem.. you need to make it MUI with JASS and i don't know JASS :p

if now someone else also casts this spell (in 0.30 seconds) you'll have a problem. If you only have one hero able to cast this you're fine with this trigger.

these 2 triggers will make it fully MUI and fully usable, leakless, lagless anything...
These aren't that long triggers.

There's nothing wrong with triggers in Post#3. So far, I guess it's the best.

The unit will not be killed. So it's pointless. Besides, setting HP is more accurate and does not take in consideration of armor.

No.. it doesn't work.

I've tried it with thunder clap and the exact two triggers mentioned.
The unit will stop yes, but the ability is already done, aka it's HP is less and it costs mana. Try it you'll see..

    Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though

    I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work

    Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm

    So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man

And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models.     Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart

    Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
