Creating a handmade loading screen, need feedback.

In short: I'm creating a new loading screen for my map. For the first time it's going to be completely handmade. Even though I'm not the best one in Photoshop, I will try my best to create a good image.

Edit: This is only a "sketch" of the loading screen. It is far far from done. What I want is ideas for what I should add/change.

This is what I have so far: (Will change the background of course.)

i don't like it, it has to many bugs on it.

how about a metal theme?

a metal background with screws and stuff like that with some text.

Using photoshop is not handmade.. thats.. graphicly created..

handmade is.. um with pen or pencil..

Anyways, the fonts are bad.. your left border is not aligned.. It looks like all you did was draw a couple of shapes and change colors.. :( Good luck.

Sorry, then I have misunderstood the real meaning of the word handmade. It's just that I have seen other's using it for Photoshop etc.

What's bad with them? Please describe, otherwise I will never be able to improve. If you only tell me something is wrong but not what's wrong with it then I can't fix it. It's like telling a bird that it's flying the wrong way instead of telling it where to fly.

Well I'm still working on it. This is far far from done, it's more of a sketch of what it shall look like. All I want is ideas for improvement of what to add in the image.

Fixed.

If it's not in the middle then so ain't the warcraft 3 loading screen bar. I took a screenshot of the loading screen when starting a wc3 map and based the bar position of the loading screen bar position. I also just measured to make sure that it really was in the middle, which it is.

Edit: Well, it doesn't look very metallic... But it looks better.^^

Will soon post a new update of it. Please leave feedback... (Yes I know, the color of "Robot Wars 2.0" looks horrible, I'm going to change it now.)

Unless you can move the mouse with your mind, I'd say photoshop counts as handmade.

Well, it looks better but it's still not very good... I don't really know how to improve it much more now... All tips, suggestions and critic is mostly welcome.

it looks cool for a handmade, but you can never really 'tell' if it's hand made or not right,
handmade ones are cool, some people just put a black background on the loading screen and then make it change colours to give you ceizures or something
change the background color of your loading screen to something more noticeable and unique, and you'll get a lot more players :thup:

Such as? ^^

I was thinking of using a gold like color of the text, but I have no idea of what it's RGB values are... Would be cool if someone could tell me. ^^
With RGB I mean the three main colors Red, Green and Blue in the 0-255 scale. I'm colorblind so I face big difficulties when working with colors. (No it's not only red and green.)

If anyone have any suggestions please post them here.:thup: The new version is going to be ready some time this week so it would be cool to finish the image until then.

Promote the map? To what...? It already has a loading screen but it's so ugly that I'm trying to create a new one. (Which at the moment looks worse...).

Well, if you're colourblind then maybe graphical designs are a bit hard for you to do. Not that I wan't to disrespect your work in any way.

Aaaaanyways, just wanted to say that if you want, I could take a look at it, and help you improve it. Or make you one from scratch if you're interested...

Comments:

If you are aiming for a redish metallic theme, add some shadow to your plates and screws, add highlighting effects to your metallic areas either with some reflection highlighting or maybe some bump effect highlight/shadowing for a more rough look. The font stands a bit to much out from the rest. Make it more consistent with the background and I'll guarantee that it will fit a bit better with the theme.

Great theme idea though, like your style of thinking. Keep working on it :)

    Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though

    I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work

    Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm

    So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man

    I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.

    Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart

    Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
