help with setting temp_unitgroup

so im running into a problem with setting units into a temp_unitgroup, i tried setting it to (reference below) Is Equal to True and it wasn't working. i changed it to what it is in the code and now it will work about once or twice even if the a unit stays within 500 of that point

Set unit_group = (Units within 500.00 of point matching (((Matching unit) belongs to an enemy of (Owner of (Casting unit))) Is Equal to True)

        Set unit_group = (Units within 500.00 of point matching (((Matching unit) belongs to an enemy of (Owner of (Casting unit))) Not equal to False))
        Unit Group - Pick every unit in unit_group and do (Actions)
            Loop - Actions
                Unit - Create 1 cinemaic dummy for (Owner of (Triggering unit)) at point facing Default building facing (270.0) degrees
                Unit - Add Chain Lightning (Neutral Hostile) to (Last created unit)
                Unit - Set level of Chain Lightning (Neutral Hostile) for (Last created unit) to 1
                Unit - Order (Last created unit) to Orc Far Seer - Chain Lightning (Picked unit)
                Unit - Add a 1.50 second Generic expiration timer to (Last created unit)
        Custom script: call DestroyGroup (udg_unit_group)
        Custom script: call RemoveLocation (udg_point)

There is no triggering or casting unit....

Try this.

Random unit means it could be any unit around the map of the type. It could even be dead unit.

There is no triggering unit.

that's because there is only 1 of these units on the map, hes a boss. i guess i should have made that available in my first post


so something like that? yea i made this ability at 7 am this morning after working about 10 hours on the map. sometimes it just takes fresh eyes. thanks!

Then set a variable for him, or just use his Unit Id, where you click on him, and use him as the unit... No need for round-a-bouts...

so then this id assume since i have an array set in the initialization. i could use it either way doesnt matter

either way its still not casting the chain lighting at a enemy unit from the unit group
