How to add/create a Variable in sc2 editor?

For global variables, click on the Trigger List at the left-hand side of the screen and press the New Variable button (at the top right of the Trigger Editor) or press Control-B

For locals, highlight the Trigger Editting window (where the events/conditions/actions are) and use the same shortcut - alternative, highlight the Local Variables title (or anything under the Local Variables title) and press Control-W (Add New Element)
