Im coming back to mapmaking and im having an error opening my map...again

i have an error whenever i try and load my map into WEU, it comes up and then crashes WEU. here it is

(Look at my posts to see things that arent wrong with it)

Sounds like your map is either:

A. Corrupted
B. Protected
C. (Possibly) Created with JASS New Gen

Try a different map and see if you still get that error.

If that doesn't work, try opening a regular map with the regular editor and forget WEU. (I'd forget WEU anyway since it's out of date and prone to errors.)

Got the latest patch? If so WEU might not be the best thing to use as the version it was made for 1.20.

You may've used and downloaded the wc3sear version of WEU, and it corrupts the map.

If you manage to reclaim your map, a good idea is to never use WEU at all under any circumstances for any purpose ever.

no guys my WEU is fine cause its not the new version and i cant switch cause ive been working on this map for a long time and it doesnt let u switch when its been made with weu

its not protected

some of my other maps r doing this too

my warcraft 3 is updated

i have the disk in

wat else could be the problem?

1. WEU can corrupt maps.
2. Do you have the latest patch? Most likely the problem.
3. It is most likely corrupted.
4. You might not have set the right settings for the map (When you create the map using the WEU enhancer)

Never map make in WEU, it ruins the entire map.

If you have the map corrupted, you should make a backup file. If not, then you lost your map forever and it can't be opened.

@Ghan_04: I believe you can open NewGen maps in regular WE, I think it "magically" converts them or something, I didn't test that though...

Exactly what PurgeandFire said, WEU is useless, it leaks and it only gives you simple triggers that you could make yourself (Not necceccarily simple, but you can do with the right amount of time and devotion).

You can open it, but when you save it crash i think

normal world editor crashed and had same error, WEU made a backup file and the file type is a J file, how do i open it with world editor?

You need to use a MPQ editor to insert the war3map.j in the map. OR use another program (Like JASSCRAFT) and copy all the code inside your new map (NOT RECOMMENDED)

That can't be good. Probably means the signature (first four bytes) are changed.
Essentially two things can be the cause for this:
-map is corrupted, completely empty inside
-map is protected
Either way you'll need to upload the map in order to get some more info.

Well you wrote there yourself it's protected...that's kind of why it crashes.

i know i wrote that for when i protect it, i dont host that one that is the one i use to edit. the ones i protect say it in the title

Well it's definitely protected. You need to find some older version that isn't.
