Hey i'm trying to learn jass and read emjilr's tutorial, but what is the point of jasscraft? If the only time u use jass craft is when u convert a GUI to JASS,
you arent really doing anything with jass... explanation any1?

That's for starters. You'll want to pick up Jass NewGen if you aren't on a mac so you can take advantage of the vJass syntax.

Putting this way might be easy to understand.

Using GUI is like playing Warcraft with only your mouse, without any hotkeys. Yes, you can do every thing with only your mouse. Yes, you can do every thing with only GUI. (And I'm sure there are nice maps out there with onlt using GUI)

However, switching to JASS, like using hotkeys, gives you a whole lot wider set of choices. And of course, you can code lot lot faster with JASS.

Also, this might be a personal thought, JASS is much easier to learn than GUI. If I were you, I would look into those tutorials in the time questioning about JASS.

Jasscraft is good for learning JASS, it's a really nice program that helps you type code out, and the syntax checker doesn't involve trying to save the map as well.

However, JASS is the limit with Jasscraft, if you want to learn vJASS, then you'll need Newgen, which has a sort-of built-in Jasscraft, which is not as great as Jasscraft, but still really handy.

You can't use JassCraft to convert GUI code.
JassCraft is for JASS only.
The point of JassCraft is to make it easier for you to write your code.
You might as well use Microsoft's Notepad, or World Editor's Trigger Editor. JassCraft is simply better at it, because it has a lot of nice features.
