Does anyone know if it's possible to, for an example, lose control of a unit for 10 seconds and get back the control, without replacing it? thanks in advance :)

note : i tried adding locust but when i did they couldnt attack the unit at all, but when the 10 seconds passed (was using remove ability : Locust here )
i didnt get back control of the unit but it could be attacked so....Locust is out of the picture.

what do you mean losing control??
Maybe "the player selects that unit - deselect that unit".
What do you think?

Hmm lets say i still have "control" over it (still belongs to me), but i cant order it to do anything. But that thing you wrote can work :)

Umm, I haven't tested it, but try "Unit is issued an order with no point/targetting a unit/targetting a pont" as events and "Unit - issue triggering unit to stop". It may work :p

Hmm made it work by using a trigger that activated this one for 10 sec :) :
Code:
 Events
Time - Every 0.05 seconds of game time

Conditions

Actions
Selection - Remove Deselect_Unit from selection for (Owner of Deselect_Unit)

Actually no, make it with the event - "Player selects unit"
"Selected unit = whatever"
"Deselect this unit"

Unit comparison - Use (Triggering unit)

((Triggering unit) Unit-type) Equal to YOUR_UNIT
10_Sec_Spell Equal to True

10_Sec_Spell is a boolean variable which you set to true when the player casts your spell.

you can always use the pause action. it takes away control from the unit and can be easily reversed. also the unit can still take damage, be affected with spells etc. while paused.

Thanks Daxtreme, but just to be a bit stubborn, i still think the one i wrote is better because when i use yer version it doesnt deselect until i try to select it again ;)

EDIT : That was just an error in my other part of the trigger, my mistake :)

To SFilip : but can it still move, and act on its own will while paused?

well since that's the way you want it...why don't you change ownership of the unit to neutral extra (and of course the neutral extra alliance setup)?
i know this might not be the best solution, but deselecting the unit every time sounds kind of ugly. :p

deselecting dosent even work 90% of the time, hotkey the unit and spam the command u want and it works b4 the trigger can unselect

You can change this now in User CP.

Events - don't really know what you want your event as

Conditions - none

Actions - Disable unit control for all players

Note - Change the all players to whatever you want... basically its the "disable" action that you need.

Hmm...tried using the one i wrote before with a little change.. :p
Code:
 Events
Time - Every 0.0[B]1[/B] seconds of game time

Conditions

Actions
Selection - Remove No_Select_Unit from selection for (Owner of No_Select_Unit)

So, it does this command a thousand times under those 10 secs but it's impossible to order the unit to do something :p (tried for about 5 minutes)

Well this works, but if its preplaced there is a better way, and then there is "Add Event" too. :)

Signatures can be edit in your account profile. As for the old stuffs, I'm thinking it's because Blizzard is now under Microsoft, and because of Microsoft Xbox going the way it is, it's dreadful.

Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though
  • Varine Varine:
I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work
  • Varine Varine:
Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm
  • Varine Varine:
So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man
  • Varine Varine:
I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.
  • Varine Varine:
Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
  • Varine Varine:
Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though
