I think he means that doesn't dispel buffs. I'm pretty sure if you use the Item clone ability, and order a dummy unit to target caster, it doesn't dispel buffs.

yea just create a dummy unit with an inventory, give it the item Magic.. Wand? or stick. or maybe its just Wand of Illusion. >_> forgot. w.e and order the dummy to use it on the Hero
