Hi Forum! :)

I'm on the lookout for a good Socket 775 Cpu-cooler for my Intel C2D E8400 CPU. The pricerange is "CHEAP". I'm not going to overclock.

I've checked my favorite brand Arctic Cooling, but apparently their cheaper coolers don't really cool very well, and aren't that quiet.

Summary - Requirements:
*Cheap
*REALLY Quiet
*Cool well on a stock, non-OC:ed, E8400 CPU

Thanks for any help

Noctua coolers and fans are known for being quiet, though they're somewhat expensive.
You could try getting a cheaper heatsink without a fan, and use a Noctua fan.

I have the same CPU but never tried the stock cooler, is it really that loud?

Make sure it's not a casefan or the videocard fan that's being loud before you go replacing your CPU fan. :)

OK, thanks for the tips guys! I'll check out Scythe or those Zalman coolers. I checked Noctua, but I only found pretty expensive coolers from them :(

Maybe I'm a bit spoiled by the fact I bought an Arctic Cooling Accelero Twin Turbo GPU cooler for 35$, and now I want something just as cheap for my CPU ;)
