No, you are wrong.
Games are meant to be played and they are supposed to be fun when played.
edit. Also Snowball effect has absolutely no effect to the game lenght. You are thinking DotA again.
You can also create an AoS where is no snowball effect.
Simplified example: Taking advatage of enemies mistakes makes you able to kill them. Enemy heroes being dead you can destroy few buildings from their base before they get back. Destroying those buildings has absolutely no effect, but when you manage to repeat it few there will be no base left for them and you win the game.
Its no rocket science. You just gotta forget stuff like revive times, kill bounties and stuff like that. They are not neccesary for AoS. Killing enemy heroes enables you to hurt their base. That is enough, because its the way to the victory. No extra stuff needed. And that doesnt mean that you can come with entirely new ideas and mechanics, like that Blood Meter for example. Only your imagination is the limit.
edit. If you have problems to understand why Snowball effect is bad, try to think of Soccer game where your Goal grows bigger when opponent scores. You see that it makes no sense and is not fun.
Im not saying that there cant be any snowball effect at all. Its just bad for snowball effect to dominate the game. There could bne some snowball effect, not in the main role, but in the game anyways. Something you can try to use as much as possible, before enemy notices what you are doing and comes to stop you. ( Not entirely sure what exactly it could be, but I still got this feeling... )
