Profit of the Last Eclipse

I'm working on a DotA type/ Hero defense map. Here is the basic idea:

12 players' heroes spawn at 4 different spawn points, set up in a cross patters. every x amount of seconds x amount of creeps spawn at the end of the "roads". It's your duty to stop them from getting to the middle and defiling the Fountain of Mana. When x amount of creeps go through to the middle he game is over.

Here is an over head view of the map (It's brightened so you can see it better)

Legend: Red: Roads the creeps run along

Green: Fountain of Mana. Stop the creeps from getting there.

Yellow: Shortcuts you can take if your allies need some help killing the creeps

Blue: (I accidentally cut it out) Hero taverns

Grey: Shops




The reason I'm telling you this is because if I try this alone... well it won't go so well. Here is the message board for the map. I need admins so if you join and post I'll probably make you one after not too long.

From the screenshot the terrain looks kind of bland. It's like you just filled the entire map with trees and cut huge swathes through them for paths.

And is that all you have to say for your map? Give us some details.

- Are there custom spells?
- Are there interesting waves?
- What differentiates this from "just another Warcraft III map"?
- Why did you choose this name, is there a story behind it, or did it just sound cool to you...?
- Is prophet spelled wrong, or is it supposed to be profit?

That's just the "rough draft" of the terrain. I planned on making it look better later on.

There are custom spells, or at least there will be.
The waves will be mostly undead. I'm working on the story right now. I already have it, I just need to put it into words.
You'll see.
There IS a story. I'm going to first put that on the forum and then I'll find a way to put it into the map.
Profit is the way you spell it it you make a profit be selling something. Prophet is a person who forsees things. Thanks for catching that though. I meant to make it "Prophecy of the Last Eclipse".

I wasn't thinking about that. I Just put them there so I wouldn't forget about them.

Ok here is the basic story.


Prophecy of the Last Eclipse
It was said that on the day of The Sixteenth of July, Eleven Hundred and Ninety-Two, when the sun and moon align, Abaddon, the Angel of Ruination, and his 5,000 demons will gather at the center of the Earth with one thing in mind... Destroy the "Albero che dà la vita", which roughly translates to "Tree of Life". But on that day, 48 brave warriors will gather at that exact location as Earth's hope. Many will gather, but only 12 can be chosen. It is your duty to choose these heroes and stop the demons from getting to the tree.


I'm sure there's more. I just haven't though of it yet.

I've also made a couple changes.

I've also changed the fountain of mana to the World Tree and replaced the taverns with Resurrection Stones. (I'm sure they will be changed many times. I might just find a custom building at The Hive or something...)

I'm actually working on that. If you go to the forum you'll see some of the things me and the one other member are working on, but some of it is in the Admin section.

You should minimize the use of trees, their too many to count lol. But anyway as I know you should minimize your trees since they slower your loading. You should replace them with some terrains. And the map looks so dry I need water H2O, maybe a little will help. Some like puddles.

I took out a lot of the trees last night.

looks less bland than before ^^ would be cool to have a little moat around the big tree (just shallow water so it would be passable) to add a break between the green of the left and the green of the right (and of the top/bottom ) looks nice though

There is a small puddle at the bottom which will most certainly stop attackers.

What do you mean by the green on the left and right sides?

oh, seems im mistake. its green everywhere (trees, ground, hilly bits) ^^ oh, the tree is sitting in a puddle of 'water' (lets not discuss what exactly its supposed to be...)

It's the blood of anyone who has ever tried to touch the tree... I guess. I have no idea why it's green.
