So, with all my newfound knowledge of the WE I want to redo my terrain on a bigger scale becuase my original map was too small...However, the many hours put into I do not want to be wasted! Is there a way to keep triggers, custom units/spells, basicly everthing and redo terrain?

what about importing and exporting every object data and triggers? :p try it its fun :D File-> Export triggers (save) File-> Import triggers (load) don't forget it does overwrite all triggers you have made in the new map... so do this before making triggers...

(you can do the same with object data in the object editor go to files and look for exporting and importing..)

You could also just increase the map's size.
Go to Scenario -> Size And Camera Bounds...
Then make sure both 'Modify camera bounds' and 'Modify map bounds' are checked, and start clicking on the arrows to change the size. :p

Resize the map as said above.
Doodads, units, regions and stuff can be ctrl-c/ctrl-v ed to another map (secure mode) and then ctrl-v ed back to your new resized map.

This is too complicated...it should be easy but it never seems to work. I see a export scripts under file...I tried copy pasting the triggerss but it took forever. sigh:banghead::banghead::banghead:

Triggers can be exported the same way like object editor. Anyway, to make copying easier for triggers, just combine all triggers into a primary folder, then copy the folder to your new map. Only one time copy/paste required. But of course, export seems easier.

And what about resizing the map bounds and size? Wasn't that suggestion good enough? To clear the terrain just use a big brush and flatten the whole thing... (since your map is small, I assume it should be easy). Then reset the height. For doodads removal, just select all and delete. There are probably easier way, but it depends on how you play around with the editor.

Just an advice:

when copying all the data of you map, follow this format:

Units
Ablilities
Buffs
Triggers and at the same time Varibles

because if you dont, youll have to edit your triggers again

This worked fine, lol I feel like a noob for not realizing it. It didnt even delete my regions and terrain

I didnt use the export way yet, but I reaffirm that it really dont take ages.

Step One:
Resize your map as posted by Artificial and redo all terrain (or at least a good portion of it where you can ctrl-v your stuff if you need)
Step Two:
Open an empty flat grassy map and do the ctrl jobs and save it (Its a security option).
Dude, it doesn't take ages cos you won't copy/paste one unit by one, just scroll out or select "View Entire Map" from the advanced menu and do the ctrl+C for units, regions, doodads and etc.
Or simply paste to the new free area resized, without using another blank map.
Step Three:
Have fun remodeling your map's terrain and when you be done...
Step Four:
Paste all stuff back.

You won't lose your triggers (the reason of this thread) and won't need to edit variables. They were there all the time while you edited your terrain.

Note that the steps two and four are only needed if you will xpand all your map units, doodads, regions and etc. If you only need more free space for more stuff, do what Artifical said above.
Simple

How do you copy the variables? I got everything over except them

I tried, I selected Export all Triggers, and when I imported them the variables weren't there :(
