Taking over Neutral Hostile AI

Is it possible to render neutral hostile unable to use it's AI?

When you pre-place units in the editor owned by a player that is not set in the player properties (Non-computer player with no owner basically), its units are hostile but have no apparent AI other than the basic attack, guard help, return actions.

I am trying to trigger the AI and I am able to take control over an undefined player, but I am unable to do so with neutral hostile. I would use a player, but I like the nifty feature of name plates that appear above Neutral Hostile units.

In simpler terms: Is there any way to make the Neutral Hostile AI act as if it had the AI of an undefined player? (Not a computer slot).

Thanks in advance :)

I think there is no way to do that. You'd have to trigger that AI completely.

You could try running a AI script by trigger (I think theres some function for that), but I doubt it will work.

What aspect of an undefined player are you trying to get for neutral hostile? You can use triggers / edit object data for certain things.

Well basically I am having trouble with the help range stuff. When you change the help range and related variables (in the gameplay constants) the change reflects well on non computer players (such as an undefined slot) but the Neutral Hostile AI seems to have a minimum "help" range which cannot be changed and seems to be unaffected by the change of the gameplay constant (if it is set low enough).

Now, I could trigger a solution with regions restricting and changing owners or something similar but it is inadequate as I have some random spawns. Everything works perfectly with an undefined player slot but the damn Neutral Hostile AI sends help at a minimum range greater than the one set in the gameplay constants.

So far I have tryed with no success to:

- Defeat Neutral Hostile at command to try and relieve it of its AI, no luck.
- Used unallied Neutral Victim and Neutral Extra slots instead, but they behave with the same AI as the other computer slots, even worse the name plates are lost.
- AI exception to preplaced units, no good.
- Asked my cat to lick the units on the screen in an attempt to paralize the comp slot AI, again, no success.

If all else fails I will use a player slot but then I would lose the name plates which I like a lot. Any suggestions? :/

Note that the acquisiton range restriction does work, however the help range restriction does not (on Neutral Hostile).
