Hi everyone, First of all thx for even taking the time to read this post and secondly i would like to know what file is it that i should replace with the import editor to remove the blizzard standard cheats? (meaning cheats like greedisgood XXXXX, whosyourdaddy ect.)

Thanks in advance all help/suggestions is appriciated :D

There used to be a file you could replace but I can't remember what it is and it doesn't work anymore.

Just in case remember cheats only work singleplayer.

There is no way to block cheat codes.

oh... okay i see.. Well ty anyway...

bummer tho since im making a single player rpg that will kindda be a little easy with them cheats

I thought it is easy for the Campaign too? Archers owning Archimonde as an example.

You can add stuff to the rpg that requires some brain so they won't be able to beat it by just using whosyourdaddy

There was one for skibi td i was messing around and i put in whosyourdaddy and at like the last lvl it said "dont use whosyourdaddy kid" then you had to quit, it wasnt the blizzard one tho. Have no idea how they did it but try to ask the creator.

Just make them auto lose when they type the cheat... that should teach them:p

Did it happen on multiplayer?

If it happened on single player, then I am guessing it was an old version, importing scripts\cheats.j used to work, but it no longer does.

well umm you could try like someone said earlier if they use cheat u could make then auto lose. for example a trigger that opens up a dialog with one button.

example:
player: types in cheat (whosyourdaddy, greedisgood etc)
game: dialog comes up "don't cheat" with button "ok"
player clicks "ok" game message you have defeated.

the trigger should be easy. something like:
event:
player 1 types (whosyourdaddy) as an exact match
condition:
action:
(make the dialog action with whatever title and button)

new trigger:
event:
dialog button clicked from "watever the dialog is called"(something like that)
condition:
dialog button equals to "whatever the button is called"
action:
(make action for a game defeat)

I try to confuse cheaters in my map by going to the gameplay constants and changing the "cheat enabled" message to say "Cheat Disabled!"

Of course, this doesn't actually prevent them cheating.

I found a solution...

Well you see.. When you use whosyourdaddy.. you get 1 hit kill

but i was thinking on making a Kill pr minute counter based on hero lvl and what area the hero is in and of course the class of the hero

And if it goes over the max = cheating = defeat

That doesn't work, if the hero kills nothing during the trip.

Instead, use a player that hasn't been declared and cheats won't work against them.

If you don't have Player 2 turned on but have a Player 2's unit, that unit will be immune to the effect of the whosyourdaddy cheat.

Heres an idea kind of like you already suggested...

E: A Unit owned by Player 12 is attacked
A: Set custom value of (Attacked unit) to custom value of (Attacked unit) + 1

E: A Unit owned by Player 12 dies
A: If/then/else
-If: Custom value of <Dying unit> greater than 1
-Then: Player - Defeat <Owner of <Attacked unit>> with the messege <Dont Cheat!>
-Else: Do nothing

Though I dont know all the cheats (Only 2... that I can think of) this should prevent a player from that 1-hit-kill cheat, unless a unit can die in 1 hit (Check this and do unit-type not equal to in the defeat trigger)

What if he can actually kill the target with 1 hit?:p
or use skills?

Why not make a match case to the words "whosyourdaddy" or something and make him auto-lose?

A: I forgot about spells, add a spell event to it or something...
B: As Vex said multiple times YOU CANNOT DETECT CHEATS, when you enter them they dont even show up it just says Cheat Activated!

News portal has been retired. Main page of site goes to Headline News forum now
  • The Helper The Helper:
I am working on getting access to the old news portal under a different URL for those that would rather use that for news before we get a different news view.

    Easily done

https://www.thehelper.net/pages/news/ is a link to the old news portal - i will integrate it into the interface somewhere when i figure it out
  • Ghan Ghan:
    Need to try something
  • Ghan Ghan:
    Hopefully this won't cause problems.
  • Ghan Ghan:
    Hmm
  • Ghan Ghan:
I have converted the Headline News forum to an Article type forum. It will now show the top 20 threads with more detail of each thread.
  • Ghan Ghan:
    See how we like that.
  • The Helper The Helper:
I do not see a way to go past the 1st page of posts on the forum though
  • The Helper The Helper:
It is OK though for the main page to open up on the forum in the view it was before. As long as the portal has its own URL so it can be viewed that way I do want to try it as a regular forum view for a while
  • Ghan Ghan:
Yeah I'm not sure what the deal is with the pagination.
  • Ghan Ghan:
It SHOULD be there so I think it might just be an artifact of having an older style.
  • Ghan Ghan:
I switched it to a "Standard" article forum. This will show the thread list like normal, but the threads themselves will have the first post set up above the rest of the "comments"
  • The Helper The Helper:
I don't really get that article forum but I think it is because I have never really seen it used on a multi post thread
  • Ghan Ghan:
RpNation makes more use of it right now as an example: https://www.rpnation.com/news/
