turning a meelee unit into a ranged unit

is there anyway i can turn a melee unit into a ranged unit and edit the way they attack?

1: Replacing the unit, same model and etc.

2: Custom Chaos ability.

3: Have the unit initially ranged, but add on to it's range.

3: Custom Bear Form.

Edit: Ah, thought he meant in-game. Soz on this.

You can modify that in the Object editor

Change Combat - Attack 1 - Weapon Type to Missile
Increase Combat - Attack 1 - Range
Set Combat - Attack 1 - Projectile Art to the missile you want to use
Set Combat - Attack 1 - Weapon Sound to None

You can change a lot of other options under Combat as well
