"Unit bones"?

Alright, well I've been poking around in the JASS Manual. And I noticed this line of code

SetUnitLookAt	unit whichUnit, string whichBone, unit lookAtTarget, real offsetX, real offsetY, real offsetZ

Now this caught my eye because of, "whichBone". I looked into wc3's GUI, and apparently there's two, the head, and chest which can be tweaked twisted. So you can have a unit's head constantly spinning and his chest constantly spinning, but my question is. What about the legs?

Do the legs have a "Bone" or is it able to be tweaked and twisted?

Also, I was thinking of using this to make, well a martial arts spell, unit is hit up into the air and while it's falling (as if it was laying down so it'll hit its back when it lands) the caster smashes into the center of the target and sends it like a meteor into the ground crippling it and causing dmg.

What bones a unit has depends on the model, I'm pretty sure. You should be able to find them and their names if you open the model in an editor.

Well umm... legs are mostly used like "Bone_Leg1_R" etc...

I would, but for what ever reason, the model editors don't work on my system. That is the main reason I asked other wise I'd find out for myself XD

This is mostly used with some dummy models to create projectiles whose facing angle can be instantly set to something, which is pretty cool and everything.


But yea, you are right. You gotta rename those bones you want to rotate.

I didnt really get that your martial arts example. Do you want to rotate that guy who kicks, or the guy who is kicked in the air?
( There are better solutions than SetUnitLookAt for both of those cases, they are just different. )

Yea, I had a map called Crimsonland where you control a marine with arrow keys and use trackables with left click to shoot. Made the marine look at the mouse.
