Videos appear really dark and are shaded red or green

This started about a month ago. Every video I watch(except YouTube or google streaming videos) is really dark and is shaded with an either red or green tint. It is extremely annoying and it makes it very hard to watch videos. The sound works fine, though.

Why is this happening and how can I fix it?

Try using VLC to play movies. It does a wonderful job.

Videos go pink in WMP and skype whenever I have a 3d application running for some reason. I don't know if the problem is related. I don't know how to fix it. I just know VLC seems to do everything the right way for movies.

Sounds like you may have unwittingly installed a codec or codec pack that's causing a compatibility issue. Do you recall what you may have installed a month ago on your computer ? i.e. What video products did you install ?
